Hi Product Hunters! 👋️ Today I'm introducing Tapesearch Chat 📼️. It’s nearly been a year since I launched the original Tapesearch and I’m excited to share this new feature with you. 🤔️ Problem I listened to a lot of Podcasts in 2023 and I’m sure many of you did too. Speaking as a Data Scientist, podcasts are amazingly rich in useful information but very poorly curated. There is so much information locked up in opaque audio files waiting to be found. The original Tapesearch (now called Tapesearch Text) was great if you knew the exact wording/phrase used, but what about a more natural semantic search? 🛠️ Solution Tapesearch Chat fixes this by searching over 1 million transcripts generated by the latest AI technology in conjunction with a large language model (currently GPT 3.5) to answer your questions related to a podcast’s content. You can now get an instant TL;DR of multiple episodes complete with source links to the transcripts that were used to formulate the answer. If you want to widen the knowledge behind the answers, start a group chat with multiple podcasts. You can even switch roles and interview your favourite podcaster! 🧑‍🤝‍🧑️ Who is this for? The curious listener, podcasters, journalists, academics, researchers and more. Tapesearch also makes podcasts accessible to those who are deaf and hard of hearing. 🌱️ What’s next? Let us know what you think of Tapesearch and how it could be improved. We are also in the process of training our own LLMs to improve the quality of the responses. It’s free to try for a handful of queries, so if you’ve found it useful give us a shout and share your experience with us on Twitter! ❤️ Also don’t forget the 40% discount on plans until the end of the month 🥳️

I think youtube has this ability because I can search for something I remember was said in a video and usually the video pops up. powerful stuff!

This is so useful. The popularity of podcasts exploded in the past few years. I tend to dive deep into some topics every now and then and very often the latest and best information about a subject is in a podcast. I personally do not like listening to podcasts, I prefer reading, so this became a source of pain for me, wanting to find some information but it being locked behind 3 hours of chatter. With this, I can find the information that I need and only listen to the segment I am actually interested in.
