I spent 8 years learning French before I went abroad for the first time and realized that the stuff I learned from textbooks in school was WILDLY different from natural, everyday conversations in France. I've always loved watching YouTube videos of people chatting in French, but didn't feel like there was enough 'support' to help me continue learning and keep my French skills sharp. I've been working for the past few years with my co-founder to build a web app that curates a selection of social media videos and then analyzes/annotates them to focus on different grammar and vocab elements. Currently, it has Spanish, French, and German with the plan to add more languages, including English. This is a resource that I wish I had a language learner preparing to go abroad and as one that I always wanted as a teacher offering private French lessons!
