Now everybody can have private tutoring, not just the wealthy. Super Teacher teaches conversationally, and with lots of visuals, just like the best teachers. Includes lessons in reading, math, art, poetry, science, social-emotional skills, geography and more.

As a dad, that wants the best for his kid without breaking the bank, I'm really excited about Super Teacher. Private tutoring is only feasible for the rich. That’s always been the way it is, and it’s never been fair. But self-directed learning from books isn't responsive to a student's questions and challenges, or even possible for kids before they learn to read well. Super Teacher means my kid can have a tutor that listens and talks to them for just over $4 per month on the annual plan. It's a virtual teacher that is fully automated but can use a natural-sounding voice and lots of visuals to walk kids through lessons before they can even type. Super Teacher calls my kid by their name, asks smart questions that test knowledge but also make them feel like they're succeeding. And it's not just talking through some standard online course. Super Teacher reacts to answers, diving deeper where kids need more help or skipping ahead when they immediately understand. Best of all, it's making my daughter associate screentime with active learning, not zombie consumption...as much as I love watching Moana every day. It's got lessons across a bunch of subjects like reading, math, and science, but also social-emotional skills, art. and poetry. If you've got a kid ages 3-8, definitely try it out and let Tim and the team know what you think!

Thanks for the kind words and for the hunt @joshconstine!

@joshconstine @timnovikoff Sounds like you have a lot of the same concerns as me, and I really relate to the idea of not spending time like a zombie. My kids are 3 and 8, so I'm going to try this right away!
Tim Novikoff
@elly_cho My kids are 4 and 7 and have taken hundreds of lessons. I hope your kids like it! They are at the extreme ends of our target age range, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that at least your 3yo will love it right away! Please try it and let me know what you think!

@joshconstine Congratulations on the launch! Education should be accessible for all and this product does just that. All the best :)

Hi everybody! The mission behind Super Teacher is to offer unlimited private tutoring for an affordable price. I know the idea of a virtual tutor may sound crazy or far-fetched, but this app really can, already, teach children to read, do basic arithmetic, and much more. My daughters have taken over 200 lessons in the app, including lessons in math, reading, drawing, poetry, science, social-emotional skills, geography and more. We hope to one day offer content in every subject, for every age, in every country, in every language, and on any platform. We’ve built our technology to support that goal. Today we’re launching in the US, in English, on iOS, for ages 3–8. The price is $4.17 per month with an annual subscription. I’m really excited to be launching this after over 18 months in development. I can’t wait to hear your feedback! And if it’s not available where you live but you are interested in trying it with your kid(s), please let us know where you think we should launch next!
Dzianis Yatsenka
Hi! Congrats on the launch! Can I learn some difficult things like programming using Super teacher?
Tim Novikoff
@dzianis_yatsenka Great question! Not yet, but there's nothing about the technology that makes that impossible. Right now we are focused on ages 3–8 and the subjects that are taught at that age. As we increase the target age range to towards K-12, we will include more subjects including programming. Great question!
Tim Novikoff
@dzianis_yatsenka You're welcome. Thank you for the great question. Please spread the word about Super Teacher so we can get to all that good stuff (like coding lessons) sooner rather than later! :-)

The world needs more nutritious and delicious apps like this for kids! As a dad, I'm super grateful to see this sort of thing. Showing it to my kids, I was surprised how engaged they were right away.
Dan Markowitz
@jasontoff Thank you! Kids really love when Super Teacher addresses them by name and responds to what they're actually saying. Our goal is for all the content we make to be really high quality kids content, engaging and educational while still being fun. Thanks for checking it out!

@mansi_trivedi1 as a parent, I know what you mean by "a lot of educational apps post COVID"... (i'm still finding them in random folders on my iPad). We really do believe that Super Teacher is different in a good, it's-wholesome-screen-time way - that was the idea. Thanks for the kind words - and if you do get to try the app, please let us know what you think!

Love this! One of the things I'm really excited about with AI is how it will affect access to education. Have you thought about using ElevenLabs for the voice? It's the most realistic AI text to speech that I've found so far!
Krzysztof Kulewski
@jamie_dowis Thanks for the recommendation Jamie! Highly appreciated! We constantly evaluate what text to speech solutions are available. I may be wrong, but based on the quick look the solution mentioned by you looks more like a proof of concept than a product ready for enterprise use. IIUC it e.g. lacks support for industry standard SSML format.
Tim Novikoff
@jamie_dowis Happy to take a look! We are always looking for better AI solutions to swap out for speech recognition, NLP and synthetic media.

This is an engaging app that has assisted with teaching kids of all abilities. I can recommend that folks try it. I can't wait to see how it helps other kids and families!
Dan Markowitz
@christopherfong Thank you! Our goal is to make it as adaptive as possible for all kids, so they'll be engaged and feel great about learning no matter their skills. Are there specific types of lessons and content you'd like to see in the app?
savvyblunt
should have used a better voice for the teacher or at least less robotic. have to see it in action but it seemed to be one way dialogue. i wonder if it would be responsive when children ask questions. for now 2 out 5
Tim Novikoff
@koosha_a I appreciate the blunt feedback. While many grownups find the voice too robotic, almost no kids do. They grew up around Siri, Alexa, Okay Google, etc. When we started, the first thing we would hear from many beta testers is "I find the voice too robotic, but my child doesn't seem to mind at all". As for interactive, it's very interactive (varies by lesson). Our teaser videos just has a smidgen of interactivity to showcase how it works. As for your last question, which is a great question, no in this case children aren't the ones asking the question. The teacher asks questions along the way to make sure kids are engaging and following along the way. Again, I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

Congratulations on the launch Tim! Shared this with my cousins who have kids and they love that the content is super interactive.

Our preschool is very rigid with any sort of sniffle, and I find myself regularly attempting to educate my energetic but allergy prone 4 year old while working. Since this is basically an impossible task, I'm very grateful for Super Teacher. The product calls my son by name, holds his attention (mind blowing at 4) and helps him understand and practice many different subjects and topics. He loves math, and isn't as excited about sight words, and Super Teacher was even able to engage him with reading a bit. Funky digital glasses and hats seem to be a high value reward. So glad I discovered this product!
Tim Novikoff
@poz_long lol, are you sure our kids don't go to the same preschool? I had to keep my daughter home today because of a sniffle she had yesterday. We actually often heard beta testers say that they used the app the most (like 5-10 lesson in a day) when their kid was home sick. They need to keep the kid busy while they get work done or cook/shower/etc., and Super Teacher is 100x better than cartoons for them.

The app is really easy to use, and the interface is user-friendly. Bright colorful images will definitely make my kids love coming back to the app. And the super teacher giving lessons is just perfect!
Tim Novikoff
@furfur0x Thanks! Let us know if you have any feature requests or content requests!

Congratulations Tim on another great launch!

@stewartjarod Thanks Jarod!

I have a couple of friends trying this out with their kids, and I’ve heard universal praise - it’s one app that doesn’t make you feel guilty about your kids’ screen time.
Mary Pat Campbell
I like the concept -- one wants effective practice for kids, and I always thought one use case for AI would be something like more responsive educational apps. I'm intrigued.
Tim Novikoff
@mary_pat_campbell thanks. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Mary Pat Campbell
@timnovikoff I just downloaded it -- my son is autistic, and I think he may really enjoy this. The social-emotional skills look like what he may like. Yes, I know it says age 3-6, and he's 16, but it may be appropriate for where he actually is, cognitively.
Tim Novikoff
@mary_pat_campbell We have seen some kids with neurodivergencies take to it, for example kids with selective mutism. Please let me know how things go with your son. And if you think it could be better for your use case, let me know how. This is the type of feedback I am here for!

Super Teacher seems like an amazing platform that has the potential to democratize education and bring private tutoring to a wider audience. The fact that it covers a variety of subjects, including reading, math, art, poetry, science, social-emotional skills, and geography, makes it a comprehensive and well-rounded resource for students of all ages. One of the things that stands out to me about Super Teacher is the focus on teaching conversationally, with lots of visuals. This approach can help to make the learning experience more engaging and interactive, which can be especially helpful for students who may struggle with traditional classroom learning. I appreciate the fact that Super Teacher is making high-quality education more accessible to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status. This has the potential to level the playing field and give all students an equal opportunity to succeed. Overall, I think Super Teacher has the potential to be a game-changer in the education industry, and I'm excited to see how it evolves and grows in the coming years. Congratulations to the Super Teacher team on a great product launch!

I'm really excited about this app. I've tried different educational apps with my kids, but most of the apps just have them tapping on the screen. This is the first one we've used where the kids are fully engaged. The teacher calls them by their names when asking questions - just like a real teacher would - and that puts smiles on their faces. But the app really stands out by having the teacher adapt the lessons for each kid. My daughter is a bit ahead of my son when it comes to reading, and when they took the same lesson, the app asked my daughter more challenging questions, while giving my son a bit of extra help. We upgraded so that each of them can have their own profile, keep track of their progress, and even earn awards throughout the lessons (my son is obsessed with collecting them all). Definitely excited to see how they grow with the super teacher!
Andrea Christmas
@holyholycats Absolutely! It's incredible to see students having actual, engaging conversations with a teacher that last more than just a few seconds like typical AI (Alexa, Siri, Google Home). Conversations on this app can sometimes be up to 20+ mins in a lesson!
Marcus Schorow
@holyholycats Glad your kids enjoy it; that's amazing to hear! We may be rolling out some new ways to view and interact with awards over the next few weeks - keep an eye out and be sure to let your son know :)
Liang Clement
Great ! Can't wait to see this app go live ! with such inexpensive subscription fees many will benefit from the app. Will definitely introduce this to my peers with kids !
Dan Markowitz
@liang_clement Thank you! We're really trying to help all kids benefit from the personalized experience of having 1:1 time with a tutor, without being expensive or needing to schedule times to meet.

I have been searching for a product like this for a long time. A thoughtful and engaging educational app for my daughters that individualises to their different learning needs and has an intuitive interface. I am sure my daughters will be fully immersed in the program and find it fun and rewarding. As a parent, I wish for my children to get ahead in life in this competitive world. This app will help do just that.
Tim Novikoff
@ming_chang_yu I appreciate your kind words. I hope Super Teacher can help you achieve your goals with your family. Thank you for your support on Product Hunt. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for features or content to add to the app!
Ben Crowley
I've been using Super Teacher for my daughter. She loves the stories and lessons. It's surprisingly good value and super easy to use. Will definitely be recommending this to others.
Tim Novikoff
Thanks @ben_crowley! Let me know if there's more you'd like to see in the app!
Stefanie Goad
As a teacher and curriculum coordinator, I recommend this app to my students. It is interactive, engaging, and makes a positive impact on learning. Students LOVE it, too! The system tracks the students progress, so all instruction is differentiated. My students who are struggling will be given more support. My students who are more advanced will have more challenging questions.
Dan Markowitz
@stefanie_goad1 Thank you for recommending it! We strive to make it feel as personalized as possible, so all kids have a great experience and feel like the teacher is really listening to them: she'll review things and walk through problems with extra encouragement when kids need more support, or offer more challenges and recommend other lessons when kids are moving through content quickly. What types of subjects and content would you most like us to cover in the app?
