Hey! My name is Adrian. I've been a software engineer for over 10 years. Not long ago I realized that my 9-5 would not be enough to allow me to live the life of financial freedom I always dreamed of, so I set out on a journey to try and make other profitable things on the side. I wanted to share my technical expertise so I thought the best logical step would be to sell some courses on what I know. It was around that time that I realized that there was no good platform online for technical creators to share their knowledge in an interactive, text-based environment. We have great platforms like Udemy, Udacity, Coursera, Gumroad, and Thinkific, but none of these platforms met the criteria for the kind of course I wanted to create: a text-based, interactive, textbook style course that catered towards tech-based knowledge. That is when I realized that others in my space also like to share their technical knowledge, often in scattered areas of the internet like blogs, X or decade-old WordPress sites. They share architectural decisions about their code, or code snippets for a current project, or progress on a dream game they are developing. I realized we were one and the same! I then decided that instead of just creating a few courses for myself, why not share the course creation platform that I made with the world, so other technical creators can share their knowledge on programming, digital software, generative art, game development and other such fields, while earning some money on the side. That is the crux of Sunset Learn. A place where technical creators can share what they know with curious, like-minded digital explorers, and build their own empires of knowledge that could provide for them while they're off on their next adventure. I hope you join me on this journey of making education more fun, accessible and rewarding.
