Go solar from anywhere with zero installation

Biscuits — Access solar beyond your roof ☀️

To get solar, current options are to buy or lease PV panels. Neither works for those living in apartments who can’t install on roofs nor for folks with a shady roof. Check out our online platform where users could access solar and save up on their power bill.

Hello all, This project began as a search to fix a problem that we personally had. We were looking at ways we could go solar, but we couldn’t find any alternatives as we lived in a apartment. That’s when we started looking into ways what are the potential ways we could address this. Biscuits are tokenised portions of a solar panel that is installed elsewhere that you can get from our platform. The power produced from your biscuit is traded and that money is transferred to you, which then can be used for paying power bills or anything else Check out our website for more information and if you have any queries, we will be hanging around in the comment section :)

Which country/countries is this available for? I couldn’t find reference on the site if it’s US only.
Mathew Samuel
@unleashtheweb Hey Stefan! Thanks for checking us out. We are based in Bangalore, India, and the panels will be hosted here, but you could get Biscuits wherever you are.

Hmm. Solar panels on a house already tend to be a losing investment financially. The amount you get back is less than the cost/maintenance. I have no idea how this is supposed to work. If it were possible, if solar were that profitable, everyone would have them.
Mathew Samuel
@ethan_glover Hi! So we partner with businesses and other commercial enterprises who typically have to pay a higher tariff rate for power. We host these panels for them with no upfront cost and they pay us a per unit charge thats cheaper. The pricing and returns we have shown are based on our current hosted project.

@mathew_samuel1 If you're not getting more than what you pay into it, you're just paying your bill and part of someone else's too. The site only mentions "savings." Is this a return on investment, how much should you expect, and how much of a guarantee is there? EDIT: I see there's the same sales pitch solar panel salesman give. A "20 year investment" not accounting for the actual cost of upkeep. This is a bad deal.

@ethan_glover Hi Ethan! We were trying to keep it simplified, but to be precise, what we are doing is tokenising our asset ownership than then goes into a RESCO or OPEX model. You can check for what the rates are for RESCOs in your locality, we are stating the number with our cost in our geography, there is a high chance they might differ, for us, this is inclusive of our maintenance cost as well. Also the reason we calculate for 20 years is simply because thats how long PV lasts efficiently. If you have any other queries, mail us at reach@sundaygrids.com, we will be glad to be of assistance :)
