Been a long time user of Strong — and the latest version is a solid improvement, especially with movement animations... definitely something I was looking for! This app is definitely for data-heads... who want a lot of granularity over tracking sets. The learning curve is a little steep, but it's an essential tool for measuring your progress towards your strength goals!

@chrismessina Thanks so much for the support Chris! We're working really hard to smooth out the onboarding and make Strong more accessible to everyone - this update is a step in that direction!

Having logged over 500 workouts, I can attest that this app is useful for tracking progress and achieving ones goals. I can’t wait to dig into the redesigned version!

This looks awesome, I can't wait to update it. I've been using strong since it first launched. They made mistakes by attempting to abandon the users who helped them in the beginning by forcing a subscription model but fixed it with a permanent licence. Personally recommended this to all my active friends especially just for its chart features to see progress over time.

Super happy to announce the new version of Strong. We believe it's the simplest tracking experience available and strive to keep it that way. This is really just the beginning - we're looking forward to helping our users improve and track their workouts over time! We'll be adding more exercises to the core database very soon, and there's a lot of added features that didn't quite make it into 5.0 launch, but look forward to sharing them over the coming weeks and months!

@igor_march Thanks Igor! Enjoy the new version!

@cameronchow thanks for an awesome app. Easy to create my workouts and track them. Keep up the great work.

I'm a relatively new user (only 80 workouts) but love it! Now that I found how to create routines before getting to the gym, I feel much more motivated and focused when I actually arrive. I'm really hoping the update comes to Android soon, but so far it's been a great experience. On top of a great app, the support team is super responsive. I hope the workouts available to import expands, but til then I don't mind inputting them myself. Keep up the great work, Strong! 💪

@deec_nj Yes! We're definitely going to bring this to Android. Thanks for the kind words :)

Been a user of this app for a while now.. by far the best on the market. I don’t usually comment on these things.. so hopefully that says something.

I'm gladly on the subscription model of this app after using it every day for the last 6 or so months. Best on the market.

Pros:

Well designed for repetitive actions

Cons:

None

I've been using this product for two years. The best workout app on the market. I lost count how many people have asked me what app is showing my rest timer in the gym. New UI is interesting but definitely some improvements made

I've been using Strong for a few months and this is a really nice update. I hope they'll spend some time now focusing on some missing functionality like being able to send a routine to a friend (Maybe make an iMessage app?) and editing of supersets, which continues to be one of the most frustrating things about the app as I add in more routines.

One of the things I like is that they offer an option (admittedly quite costly) to buy premium once versus having a recurring subscription. The more you use the app, the more valuable it is both in terms of integration with your life and in terms of the data history it has, so buying upfront makes a lot of sense.

Pros:

Clean new design with improved navigation. Watch app lets me track, time, and adjust things while my phone stays safe in a cubby.

Cons:

No way to share a routine so a friend can import it. Still cannot edit supersets.

Hi. How can I lose weight in two months? I just have such a constitution that it is difficult for me to lose weight. I'm always hungry. Can't go a minute without food. I was advised to count calories and doing exercises. First, I started counting calories. Recently, I started doing yoga. I began to feel much better. I even think I've lost some weight. Then I started going to retreats. You can check this information at https://yogapractice.com/yoga/yo... it is quite interesting. But I would like to speed up the weight loss process. I would appreciate any advice.

This app is incredible. I started using it a year ago to it with helping me settle into a rhythm that led to me losing 3in 5 months. so straightforward and user friendly, but exceptionally powerful. I was able to set it up to do exactly what I wanted for every workout with one minor exception.

The end result was a user experience that few apps reach - truly easier, more powerful, and better than the analog alternative. Even if Strong didn’t track your progress over time it would be worth it just to use to lead yourself through your daily routines.

My favorite feature has to be the automatic progression. You just hit next as you move through your routine and you literally just have to use two buttons to finish your workout - the next button and the +/- to adjust reps and weight. So smooth.

I’ve recommended Strong time and time again. Everyone who has started using it has fallen in love with it too.

Customer support is also sponsive and helpful. One of my #1 favorite apps and teams.

Keep up up the good work!!

Pros:

Extremely flexible, direct and purposeful, straightforward UX that focus on the the real purpose of your use - your workout

Cons:

Fairly bland UI for the last few years - changed with this update!

Being able to quickly record each set on the watch is way nicer than having to open up my phone in between sets or write things down in a notebook. It has made tracking my workouts so much better.

My only feature request would be the ability to automatically set weight increases for each workout or set more complex workouts and weight increases/decreases like in 5/3/1.

Pros:

Apple watch integration is fantastic!

Cons:

None really

I love this app so much!! By far the most intuitive and simple UI which is simply pleasing to my eyes. All my workout routines are searchable. And I can create my own routines! I integrated Myfitnesspal with this app to log my calories as I am currently cutting right now as well. There are so many other features on it that I'm still exploring. If you have apple watch the result would double I think (which I don't own haha)

Been a user of the app for years, and this new release is very polished and big improvement!

Pros:

Easy interface, tracks exactly what I need so I can send to my personal trainer!

Cons:

None Yet!

I've tried a bunch of workout apps and been unhappy with them all. I settled with one I didn't really like and used it for a year. However, during that time I wished for a workout app that was just simple. One that allows you to create your own workouts, enter them in, and had extra tools that don't get in the way. That is what Strong is. I recommend this app to any of my friends who enjoy weight training and don't yet have it.

Pros:

Simple. Effective. No Nonsense.

Cons:

None really

After giving Strength 5 a run its money, I'm glad to say that the wait is finally over. This is a powerful workout logger that solves the issues when actually trying to input workout data. The small details, like knowing exactly about your PRs and past performance down to the set. Also knowing the total volume lifted (vanity metric!), and getting at a glance info on how I'm progressing with each exercise. It just makes me wish that people paid attention more to these kinds of apps, since walking, running and swimming are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes down to wellbeing. Being strong and muscular correlates far better with health and most quantified-self platforms are neglecting it.

If you are a serious in Olympic Weightlifting, be careful that exercises need input by hand (most accessories besides the classic ones are missing). Also a bit lackluster if you are into Crossfit. It would be nice to be able to input a whole WOD after the fact. It's almost perfect for Powerlifters, though.

Pros:

The only workout logger that works in practice. Awesome for getting a birds-eye's view of my overall progress as well as for drilling down.

Cons:

No kettlebell or indoor rowing categories. No EMOM, Tabata and AMRAP time-based workouts either. Not critical for strength only, but still.

I have been using this app for nearly 5 years, and it keeps getting better with age. I love being able to track all my workouts, see the progress I have made over time, and keep my routines organized. I can say without a doubt that Strong has helped me to achieve my workout and exercise goals, and help me become stronger.

Pros:

Easy to use, well designed, keeps track of all your workouts and has a timer option to keep you on point.

Cons:

Cant think of any

I too have been using Strong for a long time. It’s a great, simple app. The new version seems to have a number of nice improvements. I do have to say though that the most important screen, where you enter your workout data, seems like a big step backwards visually. All the little bubbles for everything! There’s too many lines and borders. It looks like a DNA gel electrophoresis!
