Hey Product Hunt π
We made big improvements to Upscale. Which means you can make even bigger improvements to your images.
Here are a few highlights:
βοΈ Higher resolution. Increase resolution up to 8x.
π¨ Color enhancement. Automatically adjust brightness and saturation.
π Bulk upscaling. Process multiple images at once.
π― Improved accuracy. Smarter upscaling based on image type.
Upscale is 100% free. Try it and let us know what you think!
Here's a comparison between Upscale 2.0, Gigapixel, Pixelmator, and Let's Enhance: https://cutt.ly/6j6QrR8
Upscale has some strange patterns and artifacting, but in the jacket creases and the eye it did quite well.
The first comparison I ran between Upscale and Gigapixel was of someone's face and I don't want to share for privacy, but in that example Upscale was very soft and blurry on details, whereas Gigapixel truly increased the resolution. So just test... Upscale looks interesting...
@visualpharm Hi Ivan, I didn't realize Icons8 had an upscaling tool! Well, I ran the same image through Icons8 and it actually came out as the least detailed compared to Gigapixel and Upscale 2.0:

@visualpharm How did you embed your image in your comment btw?
I see that your results were pretty different than mine... like I mentioned, the first image I ran through Upscale really did not turn out well. But it did pretty decent, in some ways, with this dog pic.
@brandon_zell for this pic, the first one is my favorite. Despite inventing the texture for the jacket, it worked great with fur and wrinkles!
The 2nd one is noisy. You trade one problem (low res) for another (noise).
Our current version works best for vector graphics and clean lines, but there's a new version in the baking. We'll surprise you.
Many thanks for your comparisons! The world needs AI battles for nearly everything: upscaling, writing, removing backgrounds, etc.
@nhtvc hey there, I'm glad you liked it! You did nothing wrong. π
We're aware of the black background issue and will fix it soon. Meanwhile, you can probably fix your image using another free tool we offer: Trace (https://www.stickermule.com/trace)
@thiago_mendes1 I feel like I'm missing something too. Somehow, the images loose detail. Look at this skin texture and stitches.
I suspect they specialize in some particular kind of images and I'd like to know which ones.
