Standard Resume is the easiest way to make a modern resume that hiring managers and recruiters will love. Import your LinkedIn profile in seconds and share your resume as a PDF or responsive website.
I've gotten to know @rileytomasek and Standard Resume a bit over the last couple months and have been really impressed with the new Standard Resume product.
I helped run a bunch of professional development type workshops in college, including resume building & design, and having something like this to help expedite the process would have been fantastic. Also having looked at thousands of resumes doing hiring, I can pretty confidently say a lot of people could use this help!
Does this allow you to download your CV from your personal resume website? That would be a killer feature and I would definitely switch from my current provider if this was possible!
Also the formatting of the resumes is wacky. There are a lot of big gaps where it decides to move the information to the next page.
Hey @biggiephat, the resume website, and the PDF resume downloads come from the same data, so what I think you are asking is possible. Did I understand you correctly?
This is a fantastic product; the only critique is sometimes, when switching through templates, the section titles will be separated from the list items. Any way to edit or change that?
@rileytomasek Basically interested in analytics similar to those offered by DocSend (which I've used for decks / slides in the past).
For example, the ability to send unique links to a web resume so that I can see when particular people have viewed my resume / how much time they spent on it / whether or not they shared it with others etc
I dig your product and have been a user since 2018 - Analytics is the one major shortcoming from my perspective at the moment.
@claykohut time on page and sharing are both great ideas โ thanks for the insight.
We don't have multiple links to the same resume, but as a workaround, you can make copies of your resume with unique URLs that have per resume tracking. So if you send one resume to one job application, you will know when it has been viewed. Does that make sense?
@rileytomasek np! Duplicating the resume definitely makes sense as a workaround. (Though at the moment the analytics are a bit vague, which sometimes makes me wonder if the view count includes me accidentally clicking my link or preview or something)
Iโd recommend checking out how docsend handles that feature specifically (they make it a first-class thing โ and itโs super cool โ simple yet powerful)
Looking forward to seeing how yโall progress
Thanks, @tonixx! The example resumes are all Standard Resume users. We figure it is better to give real world examples, instead of the generically written examples that most other websites share.
Hey @vukovicnikola, all of the templates are built using PDF best practices and are parsable by modern ATS. If you are worried about legacy or low quality ATS, you should use one of the simple templates like Yew or Arbutus.
As a long-term user of the original Standard Resume I was quite excited about this new release, so I tried it out immadiately. And I can say it's definitely a huge step forward.
It's really intuitive to use, I can build different CVs for various job offers in no time. Especially I like the template and customization options, so I can match my resume with either my general homepage or a dedicated portfolio site.
This sounds very ad-ish, I know, but I checked lots of resume building services, and this one really stands out. Congrats to the team!
Congrats on the launch! I actually launched a resume builder myself just a few days back, so I know a lot of the challenges with creating a user friendly UI/UX flow - but you've done a really awesome job with this.
Randomly we've also got templates with the same name! ("Yew" - mine are all just names of trees ๐ณ). Perhaps I'll rename that one haha ๐
Anyhow, congrats again - it looks great.
@rileytomasek the coincidence gets weirder!
I'm actually living in Van at the moment, close to the part of Fairview/Granville/Kits where a whole bunch the streets are named after trees, which was why I started naming my templates after trees...
Guess I'll need to check your template names before I release any others ๐
Hey @jacob_rezi, the biggest differences would probably be that Standard Resume lets you import your LinkedIn profile without installing anything, and that we have a range of different hiring manager approved template styles.

Great Product, I love how it looks!
I am however quite frustrated that I can't seem to fit all my info on one page, even though I only use the common sections (and I have limited experience for now).
Hi @rose_grosshans, we have a few templates that are optimized to fit a single page. Check out Alexander and Yew.
It's also worth noting that two page resumes are ok for some industries (like tech) if you have the experience to justify it. Single page resumes are generally recommended for students and people who work in industries like finance.
Hey guys,
Looking great! I like that you have good selection of templates and at the same time I am not bombarded with too many choices and feel lost.
We have QFinds, video CV creation app, getting launched in PH on 10 July. Job seekers will have their own link with the recorded Video CV they can share anywhere. Perhaps you can develop the field in Standard Resume where jobseekers can put the link to their Visume?
Great thing to get a job!
But I see some points that can make a product better.
Riley, if you are looking for a product manager for Standart Resume - feel free to contact me)
This is a great product, but I think is super expensive! 19 dollars a month when people just need to download 1 time. You should think a plan to pay per downloaded resume or something like that.
