🤔 What is Stand and why did I create it?
Stand provides asynchronous online stand-ups, discussions, mood tracking and accountability for your team.
I primarily built Stand based on my own needs/wants from a product. Leading a small team of designers across multiple time zones, I don’t want to enforce stand-ups where teams are required to join a call daily. I want the team to be able to focus without interruption but be able to raise questions or concerns in a dedicated space when they need to.
After using Stand for about 4 weeks, it feels great! It hasn’t completely removed the need for calls (and I didn’t expect that it would), but it has definitely reduced them and given me a better understanding of what the team are working on, removing blockers and most importantly, how the team are feeling day to day.
🚀 How long did it take to build?
Around 4 months in total to launch the current MVP here on Product Hunt. This is outside of my busy 9 to 5 role, working across evenings and weekends. I wanted to release an MVP at around the 2 month mark, but overall I am happy with the time it has taken me to design and build Stand from scratch.

Your team will be reminded to attend the stand-up on the day and time of their choosing (although team admins can also request a time to attend).
All stand-ups have discussions/comments allowing your team to communicate directly and efficiently.
Mood tracking - every team member will be asked how they feel during the stand-up.

For future plans I would like to explore adding more options around stand-ups. Like adding video or audio support for stand-ups (completely optional for both team members and managers - I'm thinking announcements to the team via video is pretty interesting).
I would also like to explore adding task management (as this would tie in nicely with the stand-ups), retros, possibly documentation in the future also. Aiming to end with a full agile suite of products that connect or not based on preference.
Integrations with other products is another area I'll be focusing on and other ways to prompts to attend a stand-up.
A roadmap is a great idea something I'll definitely be adding!
