Hey everyone! 👋 Our new app has been a year in the making, so we’re incredibly excited to share it here with you. 😤The Problem Like many others, we believed that consumers lacked access to the right tools to make better money decisions. But when we dug deeper—spending time with dozens of millennials and Gen Z consumers who were trying to manage their money—we realized that the challenge wasn’t the money, but our behaviors and beliefs about money. Budgets don’t work because we never change our behaviors to make budgets stick. Restricting spending doesn’t work because it often runs directly against what we believe about money. Financial literacy doesn’t cut it because it focuses on the instruments of money (e.g investing), but doesn’t help people reflect on why they overspend, or struggle to pay bills. So many of us have a complicated relationship with money—whether from childhood or experiencing economic downturns—that we get stuck in negative cycles with seemingly no way out. ✨The Solution So, we did away with budgeting tips and the ‘finance management’ of personal finance to focus on the personal aspect: What do healthy money habits look like, and how can people actually achieve their money goals? We had to get to the root of it all—improving our relationship with money from reflecting on our core money beliefs, and translating them into healthier behaviors. We dove into behavioral science, psychology, and financial therapy to create practices that help people improve their habits, for good. Our app today is the start to addressing our money relationships from the inside out. In the app, you’ll find: A money relationship quiz so you can understand your core money beliefs The building blocks for a healthier daily practice of engaging with how you use your money 1:1 personalized coaching from a financial coach via messaging or video Content on how your feelings impact how you use your money, and how our money shapes how we feel 📱Getting Started To check out our app, just download it from the App or Play Store. From there, you’ll: Create an account and connect your bank info (100% secure using MX technology) Take the Money Relationship assessment Start self-guided exercises, do some journaling, book a 1:1 coaching session or message one of our money coaches. Change how you feel and think about your money and your goals. We’re always looking to improve the user experience, so please share any questions and comments below. —Gary and the Stackin’ team
