@_jacksmith RolePoint is only leveraging referrals through your employees. We do it through our entire user base (employees and everybody else). So instead of leveraging the network of 10s or 100s of people, you will get 1000s of people referring. We have right now a reach of over 3 million candidates and growing.

Every internship and job in my life were made possible thanks to referrals, that's just how it works nowadays imo. Translating this into an online experience is very interesting and I think this is easily scalable across the world. Signing up now :)
@erictwillis I must ask you, where do you FIND all of these new products? You must be the most active submitter on ProductHunt. Do you read the entire high-tech blogosphere daily? ;)
@jelenawoehr Unfortunately there is no cure for my NPRS (New Product Release Syndrome). I've had it for almost 15 years. My feedreader and bookmarks are insane. I was self-treating but discovered Product Hunt. It was at that moment that I just accepted my condition and embraced it.
@kar2905@erictwillis Sorry to hear about your condition, Eric. Maybe someone will release a product that treats it? I'd also like to see your feeds. @eriktorenberg can we get a meta-collection of @erictwillis's product news sources?
Obviously for higher level positions this makes a lot of sense, but I really like this for less standard roles that are harder to categorize and search within existing categories / semantics. Existing recruiting platforms don't seem to handle these roles really well and you end up with a lot of meaningless resumes.
@petersellis Thanks. Yes we see more and more jobs posted that we were not expecting at first but it makes sense (community managers, Growth Hackers, Executive Assistant...)
@bvatere@petersellis As a community manager, I have to say I really support the use of referrals in this world. There are a ton of different styles and a wide range of skill levels within them. You really need to hear from someone who knows the candidate's work to know anything about them.
@jelenawoehr@petersellis 100% agree. We are always thinking about new features that will let people who refer to do more than just an endorsement but to also have the ability to share more about the person they just referred.
So where do you get the pool of candidates that you make referrals from? Wasn't clear on the website. Made it sound like you post a job and the right person magically appears.
@thorpus SpringRole users once logged in let us screen through their Linkedin network (Facebook is in beta and will be released soon) which we match against all live jobs and make recommendations on who they could refer
Great idea guys! One question about the data you use for user profiles: As a user I sign in with my linkedin account — but then you additionally sync my Twitter, Facebook and Angel.co. How does that work?
Great idea! I can definitely see myself using this down the road.
Looks neat as well, personally I'd like it to be slightly more material-y but I'll take it! Will be interesting to see (get feedback on) how the hires actually perform in the long run, but I think it shouldn't be a problem.
All in all a great service that solves a real problem! :)
Getting paid to help get your friends a job is a win-win. It will be interesting after sometime to analyze the referrals you successfully placed and compare their tenure/quality vs industry average time at job. My hunch is that your referrals stick around longer since they were brought in by the best potential headhunter...a friend that knows them best.
@ahuie good point. We will definitely share everything we learn from all this data. It is going to be very interesting. We already noticed the time from posting to hire being below other channels.
Hi Everybody, I am Benoit, one of the co-founders. With SpringRole, we worked on scaling and automating what we have experienced being the most efficient recruiting channel: referrals.
Can't wait to hear your feedback and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have .
We set up for all product hunters a coupon code that will give you 15% off on your job posting: PH15
haha @kar2905 - nice twitter hack. you got me here but I'm not a target customer. =/ - quick feedback though, it wasn't obvious to me that existing job postings could be found under Post a Job.
what brings people like me who know plenty of talent that would be possible candidates for the jobs to actually refer? I can see it being used by recruiters/firms who want to get their name established with a company to eventually do more direct business with them, but for a founder who doesn't want to spam friends for an average of $50 each, and only if they opt-in, I don't know.
Granted I refer friends all the time and I find this interesting, I just don't know if I'd do it for a money thing.
@taylorhou Haha :)
Existing Jobs would be under the Jobs page - http://springrole.com/jobs
So the bigger incentive is about helping your friend get a job and the token amount is just as an added incentive . We actually realized the amount doesn't matter but people won't do it for free too. Also you can only refer 6 friends per job so we don't let you spam.
Thanks for the feedback.
