Transform google spreadsheet into a JSON API and use it as a data store in a matter of seconds. Create google spreadsheet, fill first row with column names, and the rest of data.
I see that it simplifies the creation of the JSON from the spreadsheets. But what would be the advantage vs using Apps Scripts to do the same?
Besides with Apps Script, you can do many additional things, such as geolocation, inverse location, run functions, etc
@gilbert_mizrahi1 It is easier to use for simple projects and you can easily implement it on your site. We have many libraries working with common tools, other APIs and programming languages. Check out our docs here: https://docs.sheetdb.io/#introdu...
Hi Product Hunters!
For those unfamiliar, SheetDB is the tool that will turn your sheets into a JSON API, easy to integrate with other tools and all programming languages. We have prepared many libraries working with common tools, other APIs and programming languages.
It's been 3.5 years since SheetDB has been on the market. During this time, we have changed a lot for you, added plenty of new features and helped you with custom integrations. We are proud to process millions of your requests every day. Thanks to your valuable feedback we have learned a lot. Here is a list of the biggest changes in version 3.0:
- brand new design
- handlebars snippet to use your spreadsheet data in plain HTML
- improved cache for faster responses
- changed the server infrastructure so that they never let you down
- brand new attributes for filtering and data searching
- and many more…
I can’t wait to see what you think about the new version of SheetDB. As always, I’d love your feedback!
Cheers,
Chris Switalski
@swissdevjobs Thanks for showing it, I didn't know sheet2site.com before, it looks like this app is for creating pages in specific templates.
SheetDB also allows this using for example our JavaScript plugin (https://docs.sheetdb.io/#our-han...) or WordPress plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/sh...), giving more control to the author.
But the real power of SheetDB is the REST API where you can read the sheet data in JSON format (which can be processed by any programming language and most tools on the market), you can also modify the data with simple requests. Check out our documentation here: https://docs.sheetdb.io/
Seems like a very useful data management tool for software house clients. E.g. restaurant menu etc. Are you planning to make an unlimited plan with a fixed price?
@grzegorz_pw Yes, our unlimited plans start at $399 depending on the performance you need (requests per minute). We will prepare a separate instance only for your needs.
Hi, Chris asked me if I could review SheetDB so here I am.
I have been working with them for over 2 years. SheetDB helps us show the data on our page, whenever I had a problem, the SheetDB team helped me very quickly and effectively, even a few of my ideas turned into official functionality of the application.
I recommend this API and the support they offer to everyone!
Dear Mr. Salim,
We are deeply sorry that your experience with SheetDB was not satisfactory enough to leave a good opinion here. Nevertheless, please notice that a subscription service, like ours, does not operate in a way you would like it to.
You have falsely claimed that you were not using our service for the last 3 months and demanded a refund, whereas we know precisely when and how often you were doing that. Moreover, even if your claims were true, as we explained to you in private, the services such as ours do not work in this way, that they refund to every customer who does not use the service without deleting the subscription. It is not our intention to charge our customers needlessly, however your claims were simply unjust.
Lastly, we do apologise that you had to wait over 4 hours for our response, although please notice that our customer service does not operate round the clock.
Best regards,
Chris
