Cut through the noise with powerful, privacy-first AI summarization. Understand what's happening across long threads and busy channels in seconds. Create AI-Digests of your favorite channels, share with your team and protect focus time.
👋 Hey PH community,
Super excited to share how we bring the power of AI to Slack!
We first launched the Spoke.ai App for Slack into open beta in February with simple on-demand summarization and are now upgrading it with AI-Digests: customizable, scheduled summaries that give you full control over which data is summarized, at what time and for whom.
With Spoke, you can:
1️⃣ Create & share AI Digests that summarize up to 10 Slack channels and surface relevant conversations
2️⃣ Summarize long threads and busy channels on-demand to create instant context
3️⃣ Save time with smart summaries, dynamically organized by topic & including suggested action items
Here are some of the principles that guide us and make Spoke special:
💜 Ethical & inclusive AI: we care about detecting and preventing biases
🔐 Privacy-first design: we minimize data collection and apply highest security standards
🚀 Easy to get started: installation to receiving your first AI-summary typically takes <2 minutes
➰ User feedback loops: are at the core of what makes our summarization concise & reliable
In the coming months, we will keep launching exciting features to become even better at synthesizing what happens in your Slack workspace & beyond 🔮
We're around all day and would love to answer any questions you have!
@max_brenssell Building this with the team has been so fun!
Even whilst on holiday currently, I get a tl;dr from the channels that I'm interested in each day.
Great feeling to have the product that we've built serve a real and valuable purpose for me!
@max_brenssell thanks for setting this up! 🙌
It's been a great & intense journey to this point – seeing the positive impact our tool can have on teams makes it all the more worth it! 🫶
Excited to continuously improve Spoke based on even more valuable user feedback and finding ways to integrate it with other platforms we all use every day. Let's revolutionize the way we communicate and collaborate in the workplace, one summarized conversation at a time! 🎉🚀
@max_brenssell Right now I only use Slack for 3rd party orgs that I'm a member of, I do not use it with my team. But man I would love this, because whenever I finally do log back in to slack after months of being away I'm bombarded with messages that I wish I could just summarize, I've been asking for this for so long
@max_brenssell
Congratulations to Spoke.ai for launching AI-Digests, 👍 a feature that improves the Slack app. Keep rolling out even more powerful features to organize information.💪
@andrewpflynn thanks! We will soon launch further improvements to the AI-Digests, surfacing relevant discussions and allowing you to summarize in even more flexible ways
Haha @sentry_co, love it! Definitely needed in the Slack ecosystem.
Along with some other key functionality like prioritizing notifications, automated follow-ups, and aggregating notifications across other tools. Oh wait, we're building those 😜
Spoke.ai looks fantastic, congrats on the launch! Great to see fantastic products coming out of Berlin 🫶
?makers Have you thought about working with/integrating Slack Canvases somehow?
I haven't used them too much yet but I'm curious if there's someway that Spoke.ai could make some use of them to be a collaborative space on-top of the summaries?
Good question @calum ! We're planning on making Spoke work with canvases in the future since that will become quite a popular feature among Slack workspaces 👌
We'll definitely let you know when that happens!
been using it since the early days and it's a blessing -- goodbye anxiety-inducing slack app badge, hello spoke.ai. actionable, prioritized, intelligent.
Looks really interesting! Have you tried this with "link" heavy channels? We have 2 channels where we post interesting new technologies/products and most people can't keep up.
Will definitely try this for summaries but if you can show me how to set it up best, Ill be grateful!
Congrats on the product - good use case for summarising.
What LLM are you using for the summaries?
I'm curious about the data privacy. Are you using a third party for the LLM or your own servers? I don't see that described in the Privacy Policy: https://www.spoke.ai/serious-stu...
@ronankmcgovern thanks for the question! We use a mix of pre-trained LLMs (incl. from OpenAI and Cohere). We use in-house technology & models to detect and mask sensitive information before sharing with third parties.
@ronankmcgovern in addition we have an incognito mode which means that the input and output (e.g. Slack messages and Summaries) are not stored at all on our servers and we just directly process the masked data. Please let me know if you have anymore questions about the masking etc.!
@grainne_mcknight thanks! yeah I'd be curious how you unmask when the data comes back from openai... maybe there's some open information/publications you could point me to if the specifics are proprietary, cheers
Thrilled to see Spoke on here! Using it daily, I've found scheduled summaries a game-changer for my focus time. The team's dedication to rapid iteration and user safety, especially concerning sensitive Slack messages, is commendable. Eagerly waiting to see what's next. Congratulations on the launch!
thanks for the support @matijash !
Yes, we're looking into supporting Discord and other platforms as well. We'll make sure to let you know when that will be the case 🙌
I've been using Spoke for some time now. While it's useful on a day-to-day basis, I was surprised how convenient it was, with its summary of what has happened, and what was important, when trying to adjust to the office after longer holidays!
It's also cool to see how fast the product is evolving 🫶
