My thought:
1) Remove the mention of automatic 'junk' detection from your website and absolutely all of your marketing
2) Let people realise this on their own.... it should take about 5 minutes
3) Create viral sensation as people post/share blurred images online.
4) Go even more viral when HuffPo picks up the story, and now everyone wants to check it out.
Out of curiosity, does the person holding the camera know they're being blurred, or is the recipient the only one that sees the blurring?
It sounds fun, but in the event its ever available in the UK, local will mean on the other side of the country, it always does for U.S based geosocial apps. Of course, if it is available in the UK, then the launch publicity will be over by then and there will far less chance of me hearing about it.
@andrew_stanton Thank you Andrew, unfortunately, I get the same message I see so often... "not currently available in the UK Store, but it is available in the U.S. Store". There's no option for me to subscribe for an update on when it will be either.
@ianmayman I understand the concern and interest you have and appreciate that. However we have to be sure that we can handle one city (a large city at least, in NYC) before we can handle the whole world. When we do make it to the UK, I'm sure the news will reach you via media, or even on this page since we can update it.
I'll personally make sure to reply to your comment on here when we launch in the UK so that you get a notification about it!
@parwinder hey I am one of the developers of the app - does it segue to the next screen or does it crash before it starts transitioning to the next screen?
@andrew_stanton I click on login with facebook. It switches to facebook app. I provide the permission and switches back to STB. Instant crash. I don't see the next screen.
@parwinder Try giving it another go now. Think I found the issue and resolved it for you. Feel free to contact us via our website though if you have more problems so we can take it offline. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Hey Product Hunters!
Weโre excited to announce the launch of Spin the Bottle, a live video dating app now available on the App Store.
Spin the Bottle is just like the classic party game, only this time itโs with real people from your area who are looking to meet. Hereโs how it works: Youโll give the bottle your best spin and, when it stops, youโll enter into a 30 second video date where you can chat up your potential match. If you're feeling the love, give your date a kiss and see if they return the affection. Two kisses and it's a match!
OTHER FEATURES:
โข FACE DETECTION: When no face is detected, the image is automatically blurred out.
โข FLICK: Drag players off your circle and never see them again.
โข FREEZE: Freeze the clock for 30 bonus seconds and keep your date alive.
โข DIRECT HIT: You choose where the bottle lands!
Look forward to hearing your feedback! ๐
@mattcohen Really good idea ! It makes me go back to my childhood therefore it can be easy to make a social connection between users and the application. Just one more comment here, if you could just add some challenges to be completed in the app, that can be more addictive and fun !
@mattcohen@lasserafn this is hilarious. Maybe you should have let it be. Better to have the social and new exposure with that happening than not. haha.
