SoloSuit helps people respond to debt collection lawsuits. 10 million Americans get sued for a debt every year. 9 million automatically lose because they can't figure out how to respond. With SoloSuit, you can respond in 15 minutes.
In my first year of law school, I bought a car that turned out to be a lemon.
I needed an attorney but I couldn't find one that would take my case. I thought — If I, in a building full of attorneys, can't find an attorney to hire, who else out there can't find an attorney to hire. Turns out: lots of people.
Over 80% of all legal needs in America go unserved by an attorney.
Later in law school, I worked with a professor and a group of students and we found that debt collection is the largest category of cases in Utah, and 90% of the time the defendant loses because they can't figure out how to respond to the lawsuit.
So we made SoloSuit to make it easy to respond.
Here are some lil' nuggets that I've learned so far.
1. 10 million people get sued every year for a debt. 9 million of them automatically lose because they can't figure out how to respond.
2. 50% of people being sued say they are being sued for a debt they don't owe, according to the CFPB
3. In most cases, the original creditor, sold the debt to a collector for 1%-8% of the debt. So a $1000 debt could sell for $10.
4. Black communities are hit much harder by debt collection lawsuits even if income levels are similar.
5. You have the power to fight back.

Hello, along with George I am a SoloSuit maker. It's pretty gratifying to help people defend themselves in a debt lawsuit. Years back I had to deal with a bogus debt and the debt collector that came after me. Because of that situation I empathize with debt-related situations. I hope our tool helps.
