I love the onboarding, well done!

@solenema Thank you for your kind words!

Looks great, I love anything that forces people to prepare for meetings, stay on track, and be accountable for follow ups. I'm curious though, how do you guys differentiate from WorkLife? Was there something specific about their product that you weren't satisfied with?
Thibaut Davoult
@fletchrichman Hi, thanks for your kind words and question. It's definitely an important one. First of all, when we started working on Solid (the very first product discussions happened in the Summer of 2014 and first lines of code around November), Worklife was probably very different to the app it is now. (And full disclosure: I'm not super up-to-date with what Worklife is doing now, so parts of my following answer may be partially right, or even downright wrong :p) The main differentiating factor is that Solid is built to adapt to your existing workflow. In order to remove barriers to entry, integration with other apps is at the center of our product philosophy. We integrate with Google and Office 365 to let you connect your calendar, and we also integrate with Evernote, Slack, as well as very recently, Zapier, in order for you to fit Solid into your daily work habits. For example, you can export your meeting minutes in any cloud storing app of your choice, including Drive, Dropbox and Box. You can also save your action items into your favorite task-management app such as Todoist, Wunderlist... As well as in project management apps like Asana, Trello, Podio... We don't think there is one good way to bridge the gap between real-life meetings and the tools you use, so we're open to being surprised by our users.

A little Better than Do. But I agree with the pricing concerns. Meetings are integral of peoples workflow, to come in and then say it costs $$$ is colossal mistake on part of startups. Great Start. I would agree with the need for after-action style overview of what's next on follow ups, action items. would make it a super useful tool to be reminded of the top things to do before next conversations.
Thibaut Davoult
@cedfunches Thank you for your concerns and opinions about Solid. In case, I'm reiterating our will to keep a forever free plan so that everyone can use Solid. The product improvements will come as soon as our team can make them :)

Launching soon!
Thanks for spamming my email address with your unsollicited email bullcrap that you harvested online - great "growth hacking" - I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use your tool

Happy beta tester for a few month with our startup @TawiPay! I like how it makes us aware of the time we spend in meetings and how the clock ticking forces us to be on time. The integration with Zapier will now let us integrate the workflow with Podio (to assign tasks for example), so I'm looking forward trying this out! Good luck for your launch!
Romain David
@briodf Thk's a lot for the kind words. Zapier integration is really cool indeed ;)
Nicolas Chenet
@briodf Thank you for your beta support François ! Did you notice our recent update with the search feature and automatic zaps ?
Thibaut Davoult
Hello Product Hunt, we're thrilled to officially launch Solid today! A few months into a closed beta allowed us to partner closely with select teams to bring you the meetings management app you deserve. Solid helps you easily prepare, manage and follow up on your meetings while making sure all your team members are aware of the tasks they need to perform next. Our more engaged users are seasoned developers, product managers and entrepreneurs, who use Solid to make sure their meetings lead to concrete actions. The integration with Zapier, Evernote and Slack brings flexibility, making sure you don't have to change your habits in order to use Solid. The team is here to answer all your questions, fire away!
Kim Schulz
@thibautdavoult nothing happens when pressing the "Sign in with google" button?
Thibaut Davoult
@kimschulz I just tried, everything should work fine. Please make sure you don't have a pop-up blocker and try again. It's also possible that the added traffic from product hunt today is causing this... If trying again still doesn't work, please have a look at your browser console and share any info that could help us look into it!
Kim Schulz
@thibautdavoult right. looks like it is Adblock Plus that makes the side a bit defective. Turned it off and now it seems to work ( + the sharing thingie on the left suddenly showed up)
Nicolas Chenet
@kimschulz Ok thanks for this Kim, it's good to know. Do you face the same issue with other "Google Auth" apps ?
Guillaume POTIER
@kimschulz Hi Kim. Our code was not Adblock-proof. Should be fixed now ;)
Eric Glyman
I dig it, well done! Onboarding is cool, but I think an option to skip the fun facts and jump to the product would go a long way. Looking forward to using.
Romain David
@eglyman good point. We need some time to collect data though.
Tyler Hayes
@eglyman motion seconded. i started clicking all over after the 2nd fact to try and find a hidden Skip link
Joost Schuur
@romaind @thibautdavoult You mean the way you collected people's email addresses from Slack groups and then spammed them without them having opted in? All in the name of growth hacking, right?
Sirag Nabih
Seems promising, but the "free for now" pricing model makes me wonder if I should integrate it in my daily routine. I will definitely take another look at it when the pricing is decided.
Thibaut Davoult
@siragnabih We're definitely looking to make the move to a paying version as easy as possible for our users. What we have in mind is a freemium model with paid power features, or set a limit in number of users per team. There will always be a "forever free" version.
Nathan Prescott
@thibautdavoult That is good to hear! I'm always a tad hesitant about integrating new products with no pricing into my teams routine. The product looks awesome though, very well done!
Dimitar Vouldjeff
I've just briefly tried and it feels awesome 😄 We will definitely try adopting Solid in our team! I was just wondering if you guys are planning on launching an app anytime soon?
Thibaut Davoult
@vouldjeff Wow very happy to hear this! We're in the process of hiring an iOS engineer to lead the development of the Solid iOS app. So yeah, we're past the planning phase on this and have set things in motion already :)
Andy Rink
Cool idea, but very frustrating to use -- can only take notes with one level of bullets (i.e. can't indent), can't see a list of my open issues and decisions from past meetings without going to the individual meeting and looking through everything for the icons, can't mark action items as done from the action items view...etc...plus, it tells me "you aren't participating in this meeting. get in touch with the organizer to have him add you.", yet I created the meeting! It's on my calendar, and i invited the other attendees. Either you can't do these things, or they are hard to figure out...
Romain David
@san_frandy thk's for your feedback. We're working hard on improving Solid and this kind of detailed feedback is really helpful. Would you like having a "open issues" and "decision" tab? Regarding the bug you had, it's weird, let us investigate.
