Today we are excited to announce a new data source integration in Softr: Google Sheets.
You can now turn your spreadsheets into powerful and beautiful custom software - portals, internal tools, and more, just like what you have been able to do with Airtable.

Tell me please is it possible to integrate firebase data to google sheets?
@dzianis_yatsenka Thank you! It certainly is possible. The easiest way would be via a third party integration tool like Zapier. What are you aiming to build?
@dzianis_yatsenka Could you please share a bit about the use case ? How would you like to use firebase with Softr ?
do i have to install any other app to do that? does its require to give access of all xls or just one?
@alpesh_vaghasiya2 you don't need to install any other app, it works with your existing Google Sheets (not yet with Microsoft Excel though).
@alpesh_vaghasiya2 @mariam_hakobyan5 if you need to give access to a single file I would suggest to create an account that has only access to a single sheet and then using that account to grant access.
@mariam_hakobyan5 @arturmkrtchyan that will be hard as user. We will have account which will have all files access.
@alpesh_vaghasiya2 Just to clarify, the Google account you or your team sign in with doesn't have to be the account you connect for the data source.
- You can create a Softr account with your main Google account (we don't ask you for file access at this point)
- When you want to create an app, just connect a separate Google account (data source) that only has access to specific files in your organization (you can have as many data sources as you want under 1 Softr account).

Love to see Google sheets integrated! Softr is really intuitive to use.
Question: Have you compared the speed of large Google sheets and large air table tables. My intuition is that large tables (3000+ rows) and searching are much slower with Google sheets? Can you confirm?
(I assume you don't create a cached version of the sheet which is why synched regularly).
@torsten_p Hi Torsten, performance on Airtable is indeed better for now. This is mostly due to limitations on Google Sheets API. We do have some caching + will continue to improve GSheets integration.
@torsten_p We do have caching in between for Google Sheets as google sheets API is pretty limited. The first load might be slow however once data is loaded/cached it will be faster

Finally! This is such a welcome feature! Any limitations on the number of pages we need to be aware of? If you were planning to have 1000s of pages would you use sheets or airtable?
@artem_harutyunyan thanks so much for your feedback and support! Nope, we don't have any limitation on the number of pages (it's a one-page template that then on the fly generates the 1000 pages). For both data sources, it works fine.
Excited to see what you will use Softr for! :) We did recently created our programmatic SEO pages (a LOT) with GSheet and Softr alone, and no issues so far :)

BTW, could I use the same sheet for, let’s say, building analytics calculations or so? Maybe for each record sheet is overwritten?
@alexey_yurkevich Great to hear! Please check it out. Yes, you can keep updating your sheet with the data in the same records, and Softr will show up this freshly updated data in table blocks, and charts to your liking. Feel free to share more details of what you are hoping to accomplish.

Softr is an amazing Front-end builder for Airtable, and now expands its capabilities to help more users that have data in Google Sheets.
With this new approach I don't think GSheets is the best solution for a lot of internal processes.

@huy_doan_quang Yep! Airtable was our first data source, and it works even better in many ways due to Airtable's native relational database functionalities.

Softr
