Snipd is an AI-native podcast player built to discover and save the best ideas in podcasts. Today, we're launching AI-generated audio & text summaries of full podcast episodes, starting with all episodes of the Lex Fridman Podcast.
This is pretty exciting โ and something that will likely come to the big players eventually. Smart for Snipd to get ahead of this.
Check out this recent article that goes into some of the challenges of shortform social audio โ this approach might address some of them!
This is such a great feature for podcasts that cover a range of topics in one episode (Ferriss, Rogan, etc) . I love that Snipd adds much needed features like this on a weekly basis. Looking forward to what's next.
Absolutely love Snipd. Cannot go back to the way I used to listen to podcasts before this app. Given it a shot for a few days and you will see everyone else loves.
I have been waiting for podcast summaries for a while. There are simply too many podcasts out there and it takes far too much effort to sample them. I am looking forward to this feature boosting my ability to explore further into the podcast universe.
Love Snipd for their highlight feature (snips) and their โFor Youโ page which helps me with podcast discovery. This one looks like another banger of a feature for podcast listeners.
Huberman episodes next pls :)
@parthpareek We're working on it right now. The biggest question for us is which shows to tackle first. Which ones would you like to see this feature for?
@kevinbensmith Here are a few I'd love to see:
All-In Podcast --> this can almost become a short news snippet like Morning Brew
Lenny's Podcast
Knowledge Project
Love this. Quick que: Is there a way podcast hosts can use this to summarize our episodes?
I wanted to give it a try with my podcast - The Undefeated Underdogs!
@5harath great question. Currently, we only have AI summaries for the Lex Fridman Podcast, but we plan on rolling the feature out to more shows. You can request shows directly with the form that we have here: https://www.snipd.com/ai-podcast....
I just found your show on Snipd which means your listeners can already listen with our other AI features:
-listen & follow along to the transcript, word for word
-get chapters (timestamps that you can also use for your show notes)
-create highlights, with AI summaries and transcripts and sync to notetaking apps
-share highlight as a link or as a video with transcripts
- and more...
Super keen to hear your thoughts as a host!
I have been using this product for maybe two months now and have been LOVING it. I am an ex-breaker and Airr power user and Snipd has been everything I with theyโd been. Podcasting has hardly been enriched by features in the last ten years and Snipd is finally changing that. Seems like an excellent team that executes on product development.
Thanks so much for the wonderful review, @chasestubblefield! Means a great deal to the team and keeps us motivated to keep shipping features to further unlock knowledge in podcasts ๐๐๐
Congrats on the launch! ๐
Iโve been using Snipd for about 6 months now and am a big fan! It replaced Airr and essentially every other podcast app I was using at the time (e.g. Overcast).
Things I Love:
- Transcriptions
- Chapter summaries
- Queues
- Personal notes on โsnipsโ that I clip
- Export functionality to Obsidian
Wishlist:
- iOS widgets
- Desktop app (or web app)
Snipd has fully replaced my previous podcast player, itโs wonderful. It has all the feature I need including some I didnโt know I needed (A TikTok style for you page for instance) The integration into Readwise is awesome. The team is responsive - I submitted a bug and it was fixed the next week. Iโm so excited to see where the product goes.
Thanks a lot @david_hague1! Means so much to the team ๐ It's great to hear that we've been able to add features to your podcast listening experience that you never knew you needed!
@rrhoover completely agree! One great aspect of the summary feature is that you can at any time jump into the full episode if you find that part of the summary interesting.
That way, it also helps you find the parts of the episode you find most interesting, even if they only appear after 6h in :D
