Tagline isn't 100% accurate. It used to be just an about.me for dogs, but a while back they added posts. Example with my dogs: http://packdog.com/post/KN0Vt

@McCroden You are totally right. @uxandrew added the tagline. We keep it more vague and say: "For people who love dogs." There are part of the platform that are like about.me, but it's more community focused than that.

@johnhenrymuller Yeah I wasnt sure how to define it and that was the tag I thought hunters here would click :-)

As I said, I've seen a few people take a run at this space (although this is by far the best execution I've seen). There is a serious money opportunity on the pet food and services side so I can see the business case. The thing that is fuzzy for me (pun intended) is the pet owner side of the equation. Can you convince enough dog owners to consistently use something like this? Or maybe you just need me to create the page and that's enough? I am interested in understanding the long term usage aspects of this product.

@jlax Excellent point. (And pun.) We know people love posting content about their dog. We just released an early version of our iOS app to help with this daily use: http://packdog.com/app We also know people love looking at this content. We've noticed people love looking at dog roundups. (So we made Snack, a daily dose of dogs: http://snack.packdog.com) Most importantly, we are curating community around how people are already organized with dogs (breed/location/etc). "Packs." Our hunch is that these motivations (extravertism / entertainment / belongingness) will bring people back daily.

I have a dog and not sure why I would use this.
Andrew Zusman
@jlax I'm guessing John would answer-- Community. Take a closer look at the site. It's about meeting other people who have the same breed you have.
Jon Lax
@UXAndrew I've seen a few attempts at this in the past... mainly in the form of Facebook for ______ (e.g. dogs, cats, horses etc.)

Here is my dog http://packdog.com/karl-4 The onboarding and design are excellent for this product.

It's a really well executed web app! Everything is beautiful and the whole experience is really well thought. I especially enjoyed the welcome emails and how they include my dog to a pack. Well done @johnhenrymuller, well done.

@gregoiregilbert Thanks! @pack wouldn't be a thing without: @megancasey @jmhobbs @alexpgates @paulgraff

Hi there! Pack is for people who love dogs. Before founding Pack, @megancasey cofounded social content platform: Squidoo (acquired by HubPages) with Seth Godin. At Squidoo, Megan saw first hand the magic of dog content. Dogs are incredibly popular for both consumption and creation. Plus dogs are the best. Dogs are family.

If my dog ever has a website, I know just where to go :-) Here in TLV we have a Cavalier meetup!

Also, I *love* looking at dog pictures and this site is *gold* for that!

@SacBookReviewer Awesome profile.

Love these guys - great team behind Pack.

This is cool, I will redirect my dog's domain to his profile. Is there a way to add more info for my dog? Like Twitter, IG, Flickr, other URLs. Custom domain support for dog would be sweet too!
John Henry Müller
@ayn This is great. Thanks for the feedback :)
