Quite misleading headline. I had to check out the Smart Bedding (1.0?) Product Hunt page just to see what the "Never make your bed again" means.

Basically, the duvet and top sheet are the same size and clasp together - you still have to make your bed just not as hard when the 2 pieces are separated.
I've never heard of a top sheet before until I watched the video.
Cool website though and love the minimalistic approach but it did nothing to explain the claim.
@andreflores87 It must be a cultural thing. Here in Italy, I don't use a top sheet with a duvet cover either. No problem. Maybe with expensive linens, though, you'd need that separation between body and duvet cover?
@simplygrey @andreflores87 Second that. Besides some fancy hotels, I've never seen most people use a top sheet+duvet combination. Even in northern hemisphere - it's just a blanket in a case and that's it.

Still not sure that convenient snap system strikes me as 'reinvention' or 'smart'. It more looks like that some guys try make Moleskin among bedding. It's not that Moleskin is not worth it, it is just overhyped.
I never make my bed because I hate having tucked in sheets, but if you could sell me on "the most comfortable bedding ever" then you'd have me as a customer.
@sethlouey I actually hate tucked in sheets as well! That's part of the reason why we decided to cut the sheet to the same size as the duvet cover, and connect the two with a snap system. As far as comfort, linen is the finest material for bedding. We also stone wash our linen to soften the fibers further. Linen continues to gets softer with each use (and lasts 10x longer than cotton).
I received an e-mail from these guys today thanking me for visiting their website, and for joining their mailing list. Then I received a follow-up e-mail to advise me of their new product launch.
The thing is.. I didn't visit their website today, and I certainly didn't join their mailing list - and I DEFINITELY didn't join it with the e-mail address I reserve exclusively for a certain slack group, which I guess they have harvested.
Congrats on the relaunch. I like the site although I do have to agree with other comments regarding the copy. I really found it hard to grasp what you were selling apart that's different from the competition. The product isn't something I'd buy so I can't comment on the price-tag. I'd of taken an iron to those sheets before photos though 😘
@notrab hey Jamie, unlike cotton, linen looks best when it's a little ruffled. It's stone washed as well.
So I guess essentially I could buy those snap thingies and stitch it to my current bed sheet & cover and make my bed SMART. Right?
@m_mozafarian That would be a start! In addition to the connected design, we've made many improvements including high quality linen, pillows cases that fully tuck (I hate it when my pillow comes out of its case during the night), and other design tweaks.
I was looking at Brooklinen and other similar sets and was looking to purchase soon. Do you have a PH discount code you'd be willing to share publicly or privately via PM?
What makes it different from 'other' linen bedding and specially so special that it ends up on top of product hunt ? And I couldn't understand how this linen - "helps you never make your bed again" ? Website is beautiful but the lookbook is focusing more on models than the product itself.
This has been said already, but I think a video would really help. This is such a visual thing that the lack of a video makes me suspicious (though I want to believe in the concept).
Also, as a person who enjoys making the bed, I'm not sure how I feel about not enjoying that moment in the morning.
How much wider is duvet than the sheet? I don't want to be in a sleeping bag. :)
@kkdub The duvet cover and the sheet are cut to the same size. You sleep under both as you normally would, but the connected design prevents the sheet from getting misaligned, and bunched up at your feet during the night.

- It's extremely breathable & hypoallergenic
- It only gets softer the more you use/wash it
Also going direct to consumer, we're able to cut down costs, with similar brands retailing for $600 - $1,000.
Both versions have the unique design, but the material and some design details are what mainly sets the two apart.
Super excited for v2. I've been a v1 Smart Bedding user over the past year and loved it. Fantastic sheets.
Yes, it's linen. Yes, it's soft but didn't quite get the piece about "never make your bed again"? A clear explanation on the website would be great.

"Never make your bed again" refers to 2 things...
Our top sheet and duvet cover are cut to be the same size and they’re connected together using snaps. This means that during sleep the top sheet doesn’t become misaligned or bunched up at your feet. It also means that making your bed in the morning is as simple as fluffing your comforter. There’s no need to spend time walk around your bed, tucking in the top sheet.
We also use super high quality stoned washed linen which lends itself to looking good when it’s a little ruffled.

We're also cutting out the middle man. Our bedding is manufactured right along side similar brands that retail for $600 - $1,000.
I think the product is great and can help all us of a lot on our daily routines. I have actually just to tried to place an order and was surprisingly repelled by the $262–340 shipping cost range for the UK. I have to say guys, the product is great, but pricing that much for shipping shouldn't even be considered as a viable option at all, where you should have pondered about not offering international shipping at all if it comes attached with that sort of cost. The outcome of the experience here shouldn’t be: “if there is someone that is willing to pay for it, kudos!”, but instead, “we don't think that the actual overseas shipping costs would be fair with our customers so we have decided to NOT ship internationally until we have better logistic deals in place, sorry for the inconvenience”. – After all, it’s French linen
@mrzanona TOTALLY with you. This is actually something we discovered right at the last minute last night just before launch. We're going to work on getting international shipping price down ASAP. $260 for shipping is completely insane.
