Featured
87

Sift automatically gets you money back when prices drop and unlocks all the other great hidden benefits that you probably were not aware of! Sift analyzes hidden benefits that are buried in complex credit card policies and files the appropriate claims on user’s behalf, getting consumers back tens of billions currently left on the table every year.

Doesn't work with an Amazon card from Chase. 🙁 http://ca.mag.cm/0d26113N2Z0C http://ca.mag.cm/003V3R2G1p3o Also, the amount and frequency of push notifications is just stupid. I'm receiving "package delivered" notifications for stuff I received over a month ago. I wish I could downvote this product.
Nick Kwan
@abhinavdubey any comment on this? I'm also a CSR'r like @magnuson (which is prob the most popular card for users of PH tbh), but I am using the Amazon Prime Chase card, and doing a ton of Amazon. Thus, Charles' application is probably the most common out of any use cases considering how much we all use Amazon...
Nick Kwan
@abhinavdubey @magnuson ah, sounds like Chase cards aren't supported. Bummer. https://siftwallet.zendesk.com/h...
Janne Salminen
@abhinavdubey @magnuson @nwkwan Chase cards are supported and most of the chase card has price protection. However Amazon Chase Card does not offer price protection and thus we can not claim price drops with that. If you would use Chase Sapphire or other chase cards, we would be able to do it even with Amazon purchases
Janne Salminen
@abhinavdubey @magnuson @nwkwan Also you can personalize the notifications from Profile -> Settings-> notifications settings. Getting notifications for 1 month old deliveries obviously is a bug. We will have a look on that. Thanks for pointing that out
Nick Kwan
@abhinavdubey @magnuson @jannsalm Wow verrry interesting regarding no price protection. Didn't know that. Do you have a gut feeling / real data that shows if the typical price protection refund with Amazon is greater than 4% over time? If so, it'd thus be better to purchase with the CSR (1% back) compared with the Amazon card (5% back).

Hi guys, looks pretty slick! But trying to figure out the difference between you guys and Earny and Paribus? I use Earny and it seems to do the same thing that you guys are? Or am I missing something here?
abhinavdubey
@robinsinghvi Hi Robin - we are different in that we unlock ALL the credit card insurance benefits on ALL the major credit cards (i.e. warranties, returns, theft and damage, trip delay etc...). We support price protection for all the major credit cards and for now we are still free. Hope that helps!

Been using this for a couple weeks now and just got a check in the mail from my credit card company. Huge fan!
Daylen Sawchuk
@abhinavdubey Just an FYI, your list of supported retailers is empty https://siftwallet.zendesk.com/h...
abhinavdubey
@askdaylen Thanks Daylen - will fix this shortly!
abhinavdubey
@askdaylen updated this!

Trip Delay Reimbursement for AMEX provides Info for my citi card. To file a claim you need to: Call 1-866-918-4670 or visit the Citi claim center to download a claim form for submission.
abhinavdubey
@rmagrino Hi Robert - thanks for catching this. We will fix this today. The travel stuff is in beta so there are a few mistakes in mapping (benefits are provided by the network or the issuer).
Christopher Leach
Love this app! been using it for a couple of weeks and recommending it to people because it's so useful!
Janne Salminen
Thanks @leachy114 . So happy to hear that you like it
Tom Pryor
Like this idea. The app won’t give me any input field to add the last 4 digits of my credit card numbers but otherwise excited to try it out
Janne Salminen
@tom_pryor Strange. Let us try to reproduce it. ill get back to you later
Wesley Forlines
What guarantees are there that email information isn’t being sold, à la UnRoll.me? Tried to read through terms But Every Word Being Capitalized Made It Super Hard To Read. On the other hand, super excited to try this!
Ivan Witteborg
Great to see this launched. I was in the private access as well. Can you tell me how this differs from Earny and Paribus? I know Earny only handles price drop but does Sift handle it better? How does the app handle price drops that were made with a credit-card that had been deactivated due to a lost card ? Also the app has been a bit buggy. Not able to add a secondary chase sapphire preferred card.
abhinavdubey
@ivan_witteborg Hi Ivan - we are different in that we unlock all the credit card insurance benefits on all the major credit cards (i.e. warranties, returns, theft and damage, trip delay etc...). We support price protection for all the major credit cards and for now we are still free. As for the issues, we fixed a lot of the bugs with recent updates. If you still have issues please email us at support@siftwallet.com and we'll get things fixed up asap!
Rodolfo Rosini
Who are your paying customers? Presumably your business model is harvesting the data of the cards and then sell intelligence to retailers, brands, and advertisers.
abhinavdubey
@rodolfor the service is free but we plan to charge a success fee when we get you some money back.
Alex Cohen
I've been using SIFT since it first came out in private access only (maybe 5 or 6 months ago?) and it's definitely one of the more powerful price tracking apps. So many people don't realize that the majority of credit cards offer price protection, refund protection, damage and theft protection. Gorgeous app and love what you guys are working on. Congrats on the PH launch!
abhinavdubey
@alexcohenbirch Thanks, Alex! We love what you guys are doing with birchfinance! Keep up the good work!
Robert Magrino

Program is worthless without full integration of credit card statements.

Pros:

Great if all you do are online transactions

Cons:

If the transaction does not appear in your inbox, it is not tracked

Mikko Alasaarela
Awesome work. 2 questions: 1) are you planning to expand to European markets? 2) ETA for Android app?
abhinavdubey
@alasaarela Thanks, Mikko! 1) We would love to expand but we have our hands full in the US market! We are studying credit card adoption + benefits outside of the US and will have a plan soon 2) Web + Android coming in a month or so.
Cherian Thomas
I’ve used Sift and made a claim: http://d.pr/i/vjxknD . Yay! But the GIF on the top left has left me blinded :-)
abhinavdubey
@cherianthomas thanks Cherian! I have been looking at the gif all day and am pretty much blind in both eyes! ;)
abhinavdubey
Hey PH Community, Thank you, Kevin, for hunting us! I’m Abhinav, one of the makers of Sift. In the words of Apple which featured us in a spotlight editorial story (“Apps For a Happy, Healthy Wallet"): “Find fun in the Fine Print. (Yes, really!) Sift combs through all the legalese that comes with credit card sign-ups and unearths all the good stuff…” Most Americans, who average between two and four credit cards, are aware of their common benefits such as points, merchandise rewards, and travel. But credit card perks are like an iceberg – some of the most valuable benefits are underneath the surface, hidden behind jargon and fine print or are hard to take advantage of. We couldn’t believe that so much money was being left on the table when it belonged in the pockets of consumers so we set out to build Sift! Sift automatically tracks all the benefits on your credit card and then streamlines the claim process for you. Some of the more interesting benefits are price protection, extended warranty and theft and damage protection. There a whole slew of travel benefits such (e.g. car rental insurance, flight delay, baggage loss etc..) which are still in beta but we plan to have things ironed out here over the next month. Feel free to share any comments and questions! Thanks!
ssnacks
@abhinavdubey This is a clever idea. One suggestion it to parse out Amazon returns. No need to annoy the user with items they returned.
abhinavdubey
@ssnacks thanks for the feedback! It's been on our backlog for a while but we will prioritize this!
Shane Carlson
@abhinavdubey looks awesome. Just wanted to point out the app is pretty buggy. Can't punch in last 4 of any of my CCs. Also swiping between cards and opening detail accordions are unresponsive 50% of the time. Look forward to seeing this shine!
Bikram Agarwal
I have two factor authentication enabled on my Amazon account. When I tried to link my Amazon account with Sift, it asked me fill a captha after entering email id + password and then it prompted for the 2FA code. But then it rejecting the 2FA codes, saying it is wrong. I tried 3-4 times, in 10 minute intervals. The 2FA codes are not wrong. Also, I wish there was a way to do what this app does, without giving it full access to our entire mail inbox.
abhinavdubey
@vicky_buddie Hi Bikram this should be fixed. If you still have a problem then email us at support@siftwallet.com. Thanks!
Jon Abrams
It keeps badgering me about a price reduction on a product I already returned to Amazon. How do I tell it to ignore that purchase?
Janne Salminen
@jonathanabrams If you want to stop tracking a product, you need to go to the purchases screen, and swipe left on top of the product that you want to stop tracking and select "dont track". Or go to the product details view of that product and click the menu on top right corner and select "dont track". i hope this solves the issue for you

Keep up the good work and maybe work on the UI of the app a little more. The value prop is great, but I often times am incredibly confused by what I should be tapping.

Pros:

I've gotten back at least $100 over the past 3-6 months.

Cons:

It's already a great product! Only cons I can think of are that I'd like the price monitoring to apply to a wider variety of storefronts.

Hi @jannsalm & @abhinavdubey, congrats on your launch anniversary for Sift 🎉 What are your highlights from the past year? Epic Wins 🏆 1. 2. 3. Epic Fails 💩 1. 2. 3. What advice would you give to founders launching today? (...or yourself a year ago 🤔) What's the next year look like for Sift? 🚀
Kal Freese
This is really neat! Does it only work with credit cards? Ie. Not debit
abhinavdubey
@kallefreese it essentially unlocks whatever benefits are available on your payment type (debit or credit) and also unlocks any applicable retailer policies (e.g. price match, return policies etc..). So say that you have a debit card with no insurance benefits and the price drops for something at Target within their 2-week price match window- we would automatically file a claim on your behalf!
