Shout is a privacy-first platform for conducting survey research, engaging with quizzes, and generating leads with forms. We don't use cookies or collect IP addresses, and all our tools encourage compliance.
Hi everyone!
We're very excited to launch Shout π and wanted to share some information about us and our tool.
Where did the idea come from?
We've been in the survey industry for over 20 years and have noticed that other platforms are not as up-to-date with making it easy for users to comply with data protection laws like GDPR, GDPR-UK, and CCPA. So, we worked hard to create a tool that that allows researchers, marketers and businesses to collect data and feedback compliantly.
What makes Shout a privacy-first platform?
We've integrated the following features for you to manage your compliance in the app:
- Anonymous responses, by defaultπ
- Cookieless website and app, by default πͺ
- Collect and record consent from new contacts β
- Group contacts by your lawful basis to process their data π₯
- Separate personally identifiable information from response data in your reports π
- Add your Data Protection Officer (DPO) as a single point of contact for your team π§βπΌ
To live up to the standards set by governing bodies, we've also minimised the amount of data we process to the bare minimum.
What's the catch, do I lose any important features with Shout?
There's no catch. Shout comes with all the features you would expect from any other survey tool and more:
- 20+ Question Types: including multiple-choice, scales & sliders, star ratings, order ranking, binary (yes/no), Net Promoter Score, Contact Forms (with field validation), and much more.
- Integrated CRM: import existing marketing and research contacts, generate leads with forms, personalise with custom fields and filter & segment your lists.
- Team Collaboration: invite colleagues to join your Shout Team and collaborate on surveys and reports together.
- Question Logic: Personalize respondent paths by sending them to different pages based on their answer choices.
- Text Piping: Pipe text from previous answers, contact fields in the Shout CRM, or via JavaScript API (Hidden Fields).
- Fully branded forms: add your logo, use your own domain, customise survey links, and white label projects.
- A/B Testing: Split test images, sections of text and videos in your forms to see what performs best with audiences (perfect for product concept tests).
- Much more: We're launching with more features than we can list, feel free to drop a comment below if you have any questions.
How can I reach my audience?
You can share your project in a multitude of ways with Shout, including:
- Email invitation: we've integrated a full email builder into the app for you to customise and brand emails invitations.
- URL: share projects with respondents directly using a simple link.
- Target survey audiences: find the perfect respondents from all over the world using an extensive list of targeting criteria.
- Web embed: embed surveys, quizzes, and forms into your website.
- Social media: share project links to your social media profiles.
- Pop-ups and slide-outs: have your surveys pop-up or slide out at the click of a button.
Let Shout help you collect feedback, generate leads and engage audiences without having to worry about your compliance. Shout can do all this and more, for as low as $12.99/ month.
Thank you for all your support so far, we're hoping we can go the distance together!
Let us know what you all think in the comments
@kate_kovbii Thank you so much for the support, it really means the world todayπ! We have lots of competitors in the survey industry, but we've pivoted to provide privacy-focused tools that enable you to collect feedback, data, and contacts whilst ensuring you're compliant with data protection regulations globally.
We're also far less limited than our competitors when it comes to our subscription plans.
Firstly, you'll be able to collect Unlimited Responses with any annual plan, whilst our competitors set limits for how many responses you collect per month and per year!
We're also very competitively priced. Compared to SurveyMonkey, you can save up to 84% per year with Shout.com.
We'll also be growing and improving Shout based on your feedback, which seems obvious for a survey tool, but something you see less and less with other large competitors.
This is all on top of the compliance features we've already introduced, which I'll include again here for you:
- Collect and record consent from new contacts β
- Group contacts by your lawful basis to process their data π₯
- Separate personally identifiable information from response data in your reports π
- Add your Data Protection Officer (DPO) as a single point of contact for your team π§βπΌ
And to practice what we preach, our website and app are completely cookieless so you don't need to worry about unnecessary monitoring or tracking. Also, surveys are completely anonymous by default, so your respondents and leads don't need to worry about it either!
We have a robust Data Protection Agreement, and have worked tirelessly on both internal and external documentation to ensure that we're compliant with all the data protection regulations that our users would be concerned with.
We've added a range of new features to Shout in the last month, including:
- Single question per page surveys (to increase engagement and reduce survey fatigue)
- Progress bar that connects to survey pages and sections
- Welcome section (where you can greet respondents or include important data processing information)
And we've got many more features in the works, with the next big addition being a calculator for surveys, forms, and quizzes that can be connected to our integrated CRM. This will allow you to segment your contacts based on their input to the calculator, which will be perfect for qualifying leads.
Whilst we're on the topic of our integrated CRM, this is available with all plans (and our Free 14 Day Trial) and there are no limits on how many contacts you can store.
As you can see, I'm very excited for Shout's launch. Let me know if you have any questions at all, and thank you again for your kind words.
@evan_lewis thank you for such a detailed answer! You truly are excited about the launch, and that is just awesome! It is always a pleasure to watch such inspired creators! Hope you and your product will find a lot of new users today! Especially since your product looks super useful! β€οΈ
@kate_kovbii No problem at all Kate! It's a pleasure to be part of a community like the one here on PH, it really does attract the best kind of people πThank you again for your support, if you're interested in giving Shout a try, we have a 14 Day Free Trial (no card required) or if you'd prefer something a little more custom I'd be more than happy to set that up for you.
Have the best week!
You did it! Congratulations to your launch team! Today, we also launched Edworking and hope to receive your support! (https://www.producthunt.com/post...)
Hi Team, congrats on your launch! Shout looks really great at first glance.
I was wondering, whether Shout has a feature that would allow for running live quizzes for our YouTube audience? We're currently on a lookout for a new tool that would help us cut costs as we need to use 3 different ones. One for surveys, one for LPs and lead collection, and one just for running live quizzes during our lives on YouTube.
(For example: a person has to go to the LP, leave their data and then is automatically redirected to another page. Would it be possible to keep it all on the same site with Shout?)
@mzatorski Hi Maciej, you can absolutely run quizzes with your YouTube audience. With Shout Quizzes, you can apply points to questions, show scores (final score, page totals, and individual question scores) at the end of the quiz, and even provide custom feedback to quiz takers depending on the score they receive.
However, scores are not currently displayed live. Each quiz taker would see their own score at the end of the quiz, and you'd be able to see collated scores (and individual responses) in your quiz report. Quiz reports can be shared with a URL link if you want to show the overall scores to others.
Unfortunately, we don't currently support the creation of landing pages. However, you can achieve this with Forms instead.
When creating a Form (or Survey) with Shout, you can collect the personal information of contacts and then set a redirect to trigger once the form has been filled out.
So, in your example, an audience member would fill out a form and once they hit the submit button they could be taken straight to your quiz via the URL redirect upon completion.
As an added bonus, you can collect explicit consent for processing data from your audience when you are storing and managing contacts in Shout's integrated CRM.
Let me know if you have any questions about the above.
@evan_lewis Hi Evan, thanks for the reply π Ngl, Shout sounds pretty great :) We just got back from a big conference and I feel as if this was the exact tool that we were missing. I'll definitely bring it up at our next status :)
I might say, this product looks good and gets me thinking on different ways i could use it. Seams like an easy and professional way of getting insight from users. Great job!
BTW, there might be a problem with the header image on Product > Survey Maker page.
@chiritescu_stefan Thank you so much for your kind words! Well you can get started with our Free Trial today, we don't require any information from you other than an email and password, we don't require any card information for the Trial.
Could you tell me what you see on your end (on the Survey Maker page)? This should be an SVG that showcases a survey in action, and it appears to be working correctly for me.
@chiritescu_stefan Very strange, I can't seem to replicate that on my end. Would you mind sharing your screen resolution with me so I can test this more thoroughly?
