Hello Product Hunt community! We launched the original Shortwave AI Assistant on here 1 year ago. Now we're back, with a significant upgrade. We're using the latest LLMs, a brand new agent, and all-new search infrastructure. Plus, we've dramatically expanded the data sources and integrations it uses, and built a ton of UI, to make it smarter, faster, easier to use, and more capable than ever. With our 2.0 launch, we believe our AI goes from "cool" to "really useful"! I hope you agree! You can read more details about the launch in our blog post here: https://www.shortwave.com/blog/n... Some common AI use cases that I have personally include: -Finding emails based on concepts rather than keywords (ie. “find bug reports”) -Understanding trends (“what are the top 3 complaints in emails to support@ this week”) -Getting up to speed quickly on projects (ie. “what’s the status of ”) -Writing common emails way faster (“complete this draft the way I usually do”) -Improving my drafts (“make this email good”) -Managing my schedule (“schedule the meeting discussed here. Find a time next friday for 30 mins”) If you’ve ever copy-pasted emails into ChatGPT – stop! Our AI uses the same LLM under the hood, but it also pulls in a huge amount of context automatically so it can give you highly personalized results: every relevant email, draft, and calendar event, along with an understanding of what’s on your screen, your personal writing style, your settings, and more. We're still working rapidly to improve the product -- so please comment below with feedback, feature requests, etc! Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Shortwave 2.0 sounds like a huge leap forward in making AI truly useful for everyday email management and productivity! The ability to find emails based on concepts rather than keywords and pull in context automatically is a game-changer for people dealing with tons of emails. The personal touch, like improving drafts to match your style, takes it to another level. Has anyone tried out the new features yet? Hey Andrew, How does Shortwave handle email threads or conversations that span multiple emails? With the integration of calendar events, are there any plans to expand into full-fledged task management features? Congrats on the launch!

This feature alone can streamline workflow and help with staying on top of tasks without missing important details.

The fact that Shortwave integrates with calendars and allows you to schedule emails is a huge plus.

This looks super handy! I love the idea of not having to copy-paste emails into ChatGPT anymore. One thing I'd love to see is integration with other productivity apps like Notion or Trello. Also, it'd be cool if it could learn from my responses over time to get even more personalized. Overall, though, this seems like a game-changer for email management!

Hey Andrew, love the idea behind Shortwave 2.0! Quick question though—do I need any coding experience to get the AI assistant working, or is it plug-and-play? I’m not a coder, so hoping it's easy to set up. Thanks and launch!
Sophia Seltenreich
@davidcarter -- it's plug and play! The AI assistant is conversational, so you can ask questions in plain, natural language (just like how you'd speak or type)
Harsha Kalbalia
This sounds like a real time-saver! I'm curious about how the AI handles email privacy and data security. Does it learn from user interactions to improve over time?

Hey, interesting update here, but honestly, the whole AI assistant thing just feels like another layer of complexity, and it might be overwhelming for some, maybe streamline it a bit more, also the idea of it reading everything sounds kinda invasive, feels like privacy is getting traded for convenience, thoughts?
Benoit Pagotto
This AI sounds like it could be both a game-changer and a time-waster, we'll see how it handles my cluttered inbox though, how secure is it with accessing all this personal info, I mean cool idea but kinda concerned, anyone tried it yet?
Jordane
Honestly, while the AI improvements sound great in theory, I'm a bit skeptical about its real-world practicality, AI handling personal style and tasks like meeting scheduling sounds ambitious but might end up being more of a hassle than actually doing it yourself, plus integrating more data sources could be a privacy headache, but hey if it actually works as described it could potentially save time and boost productivity, though I'm on the fence about it.
