I've been using it today, and it looks promising so far.
The feature that I miss the most is shortcuts. This is a tool for power users, so I can imagine I'm not the only one. In my opinion, the most natural shortcuts would be (in Mac): Command+ to switch accounts (same as Slack) and Control+ to switch Mail/Calendar/Docs (same as Chrome).
I've been using WMail... basically the same thing w/o the cal/docs integrated but... that could probably happen. Anyway... cool but have this already.
@chuckreynolds We love WMail as well...we just thought we could add some interesting features. We have some additional cool items on our product roadmap for 2017....please check back!

I first heard about Shift on Betalist. Like many people, I was in the frustrating loop of always switching between Google accounts for work and personal as well as between Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
After using Slack for a while I thought there had to be something similar that would let me switch between Google accounts (just like I switch teams on Slack).
That's when I stumbled upon Shift on Betalist and I've been using it ever since. It's so seamless and saves me so much time from getting into the annoying switch account / login loops of Google accounts.
Ok, $19.99 a year isn't expensive, but Kiwi does the same as this for a one time fee that's less than half that. As I said before, yes, Shift looks a bit nicer, but what else is it bringing to the table to justify a subscription over a one-time purchase?
@frassmith I was thinking the same i use kiwi everyday and it's fantastic. But when people send me drive links or when i have to go on the google developper console or to google play account the nightmare is still here. I have to logout from one account and login into another one ...
@yecine_dhouib When did you last update Kiwi? Drive is built in now, as are Docs, Sheets and Slides as well as Calendar.
@frassmith Kiwi is 10 bucks once (Canadian!) and a super-solid product. I have a hard time paying Yet Another Subscription in the email space for a product that doesn't do all that much.
@frassmith @andreasduess @yecine_dhouib If you love Kiwi, we love you. People that use Kiwi understand the problem of navigating Google accounts. We thought we could add our own spin and have some exciting features coming in 2017. Shift is more expensive and it's a subscription... we felt that we couldn't build a sustainable business off a small one time fee. Also, we're Canadian too! :)
@tobyns @frassmith @yecine_dhouib that's fair enough - I understand the need to build a business model - however, when I am adding up my annual subscriptions, the total becomes quite the number.

Just a quick question. I did subscribe with an gmail inbox account and it is now my primary one. Is there any way to change it and make the same mail address but gmail inbox account the primary one?
@tgandur Hey Tarik! We don't have a super easy way to change your Primary Shift Account (yet!). For now, you will need to delete your application data and set Shift up again, ensuring that you re-select your Primary Shift Account. Feel free to email us at hello@tryshift.com for easy instructions on how to do that, if needed.
@muninjlm Thanks for checking out Shift! Pro tip: if you are switching between calendars and want to jump back into mail, just double click the account icon to head to straight to your mail view for that account.
@matthui We do too! Unfortunately, we don't think a chrome extension would be viable due to how Chrome's session system works. If you have an idea on how to implement this, technically, please shoot me a note! (tobyn.sowden@rdbrck.com)
I really like the product. You have solved for a friction in my life. I need to zoom in and keep that zoom, is there anyone to keep the zoom? Everytime I go back, its not zoomed. I need to add that in preferences. Thanks.

@tobyns @papafouche Thanks. I love it...really hated having to go from tab to tab for emails...I also love that the calendar is located in each one...very cool.
Love this concept as someone with multiple email addresses. What is the advantage of using this instead of simply "adding account" on the top right of your gmail? (Or is the bigger sell that it's a standalone app)

Yo @yo - that's great to hear! With Shift, you are not only toggling between Mail accounts the way you would by 'adding account' - you are also accessing Calendar, and Drive for each one, without the hassle of multiple browser tabs/logging in/logging out. 🔑
Shift is absolutely fantastic. I'm on the free version right now to try it out but I already love it - because on a daily basis, I switch between multiple Gmail accounts. I did want to ask though if there's any way to get Boomerang to still work within Shift? I know that's a Chrome extension but was just wondering if there would be a possible way?
@_amitsbajaj Not right now, but soon!! We expect to add support for the most popular Gmail chrome extensions (like Boomerang) in Q1 of 2017.
What advantages would you say you have over MailPlane? I see having drive documents, anything else?
@robgranholm The foundation is the same: solving the problem of switching between multiple accounts. We have added the ability to shift between Mail, Drive, and Calendar. We've designed the user experience in a way that we think makes sense (accounts down the left, views on the upper right). We'll continue shipping features in Q1, hopefully to continue to differentiate Shift.
@Tobyn does Shift not work/compatible with Mixmax? That might be the only deal-breaker for me...

@nadia_tatlow @paul_loeb @faresnimri @tobyn Thirding this. I was literally in awe of the product until I couldn't see my mixmax/mailtrack plugins at work. I'm going to put the product down for now, but I'm going to be in love with it once it gets that functionality.

this is cool, but a free browser plugin is way more important because we have many small cute extensions and crm tools in my 3 gmail accounts :)

This looks great! Gmail works nicely. Issue with Outlook though...it lets me sign in to my company's outlook (via organization sign in, step 2), but then after connecting the account, and I click 'start using' (step 3), the Outlook tab shows the default Outlook public login website, not my company's domain.
@nickdreckshage We are looking to add Office 365 functionality early in the New Year which I think will address your issue.
