Hey Product Hunt!
I’m Carlos, the founder and maker of shelf. I’m super excited to launch shelf on Product Hunt today. 🚀
shelf is a smart asset tracking and management tool that helps you keep track of your company’s physical assets. Whether it’s cameras, laptops, books, or tools, shelf lets you scan QR labels, locate assets, manage inventory, and optimize workflows with your smartphone (thanks native QR reading support)
I built shelf because I was frustrated with the lack of simple and effective solutions for asset management. I wanted a tool that could help me and my team save time, reduce costs, and improve productivity. Shelf is the result of months of hard work and user feedback.
You can use shelf to:
> Assign assets to users and locations
> Track asset usage and history
> Collaborate with your team and share asset information
> Customize your asset fields and categories (coming soon!)
I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback on shelf. Feel free to ask me anything in the comments. Thanks for your support! 😊
Congratulations with the launch, Carlos. I have been waiting for a simple and straight forward app to track all my assets and golden samples within my company.
Congratulations on the launch, Carlos!

Yes! @uxdbob - We really love Web APIs and are fascinated by the UX you can build with them.
Location tracking now is easier than before. QR code scanning as well.
So, it is a beautiful time to add value in this space!

@shashank_singh11 thank you for your comment! Very happy to be building on the asset management software space. Many existing solutions, with very antiquated approaches and UI/UX.
Love to bring some new energy to this space!
@new_user_1965ce9c93 it is for now! We will engage our community when launching a pricing model. Hopefully in a nice, collaborative manner. We are trying to get our usage high now and learn from the patterns we see of usage.
Thank you @sandradjajic
I envision a world in which companies and teams care about registering their assets and managing them efficiently.
A world where asset management software is not just a tool, but a strategic partner that helps them optimize their resources, reduce costs, improve productivity, and achieve their goals.
A world where Shelf is the leading solution for asset management, with its innovative features, user-friendly interface, and powerful integrations. A world where Shelf users are happy, satisfied, and successful.
That’s the world I’m working hard to create every day. Thank you for your kind words and support! 🙌
This sounds like a game-changer for businesses with physical assets! The ease of scanning QR labels and tracking inventory will definitely streamline workflows and save time. Excited to see the impact you folks in this space!
@shushant_lakhyani that is the vision!
Even companies that deploy a lot of IT assets to their workforce can benefit from this.
Imagine - you have to do a company asset inventory and found that there are 1000s of $ worth of machinery/technology/equipment missing.
Who is to blame? Hopefully Shelf won't blame anyone but avoid the finger pointing dance all along!
