Sentrya makes it easy for you to stop all types of spam from reaching your Gmail inbox, and clear the clutter left by useless subscriptions. Everything you need to manage your inbox and your personal data, in one place.
Hey 👋
I'm Claudiu, founder of Sentrya.
It's been a while since I first launched Sentrya here, and I'm proud to say that version 2.0 is finally here.
I built Sentrya with one goal in mind - get rid of spam and useless subscriptions from my inbox. It's annoying having to check my inbox every 30 minutes and delete all unwanted emails and spam. It's not only a waste of time, but it's also a massive distraction.
Just to give you an idea of how my inbox looked like, I let it run wild for about a week. At the end, I had 250 emails in my inbox (more than 90% of them were unnecessary promotions) and approximately 50 spam emails in my Spam (from "Delivery failed" to "Free prizes").
Using Sentrya, I built my own whitelist with senders I need and trust, and let it sit for another week to see the differences.
I'm happy to report that the difference is quite significant, as I only received 25 emails (all important) and 0 spam in my Spam folder.
Great work and absolutely incredible results!
I am also a Data Protection specialist, and I've worked in this industry for 5 years. In this time, I learned a lot about how companies handle our personal information and what they do with it.
I also learned that many of them rely on email marketing (nothing new here), but the problem arises when you unsubscribe from their emails.
Since they can't advertise directly to you anymore, most of these companies will sell your personal information to make up the loss in revenue.
Because of this, I strongly recommend you to stop unsubscribing from promotional emails, especially as an individual (not a business).
Instead, the best option to avoid this problem, while keeping control over your personal data and clearing your digital footprint, is to delete your data.
With Sentrya is now easier to achieve this - see a full list of companies that have your personal information, and decide which ones you don't need in order to delete your data.
With Sentrya you can:
✅ Whitelist companies you need and trust to get rid of spam and useless promotions
✅ Add your personal contacts to your whitelist and block all types of spam from reaching you
✅ Delete your data from any company you want and don't need
✅ Discover what data does a company hold about you, what they do with it, and if they shared it or sold it (and to whom)
✅ Mass delete emails from individual senders and free up storage space
✨As a bonus, if you share your Sentrya stats on Twitter/X using #mysentryastats, you will unlock a 50% discount on the Annual Plan for the first year, and access the Partner Program where you can make $20 for each friend referred.
This being said, I invite you to join Sentrya and play around with it for Free (no card required).
And if you have any questions, please do let me know :)
Thank you!
Hats off to @claudiu_cogalniceanu for launching Sentrya 2.0! Tackling spam and subscription clutter in Gmail is a much-needed service. 👏 How does Sentrya ensure that important emails aren't mistakenly filtered out along with the spam?
@ashwinaravind thanks Ashwin! Sentrya makes simple to create your own whitelist with senders you need and trust, and removes everything else. This way you won’t miss any important emails, and get rid of junk at the same time
congratulations on the launch of sentrya 2.0, claudiu. managing inbox clutter is crucial for productivity. i'm curious, how does sentrya ensure the accuracy of the whitelist feature, especially in scenarios where spam senders frequently change their email addresses or formats?
@mashy thanks Albert!❤️
That’s a good question, and the best way to answer it is to compare your inbox to a private party. At the party, you hire a bouncer with a list of guests. The role of the bouncer is to invite the guests in, and keep away strangers or those who weren’t invited.
That’s pretty much how Sentrya works - you create your own “invite” list, and Sentrya keeps anyone else away from your party😀
Congrats on the launch Claudiu!
Sentrya seems really amazing ❤️
How does Sentrya know which companies have my information, and how does it delete that information on my behalf?
@jgani thanks Jonni🙌
Sentrya looks for companies in your inbox, and shows you a full list of what was found. From this, you can send deletion requests to anyone you want.
I added this option as it’s a safer way (compared to unsubscribing) to stop them from emailing you, and clear your digital footprint. I say it’s safer because it reduces the risk of having your data sold (which often happens after you unsubscribe)
Clicked that upvote!
I'm just wondering, with all the smart tech out there, how does Sentrya make sure it doesn’t sweep away something important with the spam? I mean, is it all-out war on newsletters, or can it tell the difference between spam and the occasional gem?
@aman_wen thanks Aman! Yes, this fight between email providers and spam is still going, and sometimes providers win, other times, scammers win.
With Sentrya, you can create your own whitelist with senders you need and trust, and delete everything else. This way you won’t miss important emails, and get rid of spam and junk, at the same time.
