Drivesome has been a passion project 15 years in the making—and honestly, I’m not sure what happens if it doesn’t take off.
It all started back in 2010-2011 as FindGrip, a global track day calendar. No AI, just a custom Joomla website that required constant manual updates. It was a grind, but I loved it. Then, a billion-dollar insurance company entered the space and crushed my momentum.
I pivoted to a news/blog site, but realizing I was a slow typer (and couldn’t spell to save my life) made that a struggle. Again, momentum faded.
Fast forward to today—I have a 3-year-old obsessed with cars, and it reignited my love for them. With AI cutting content creation time in half, I finally built the platform I wish had existed years ago. A true car-centric social network.
But now comes the real challenge: getting user-generated content to create the conversations that bring new users in. How long do I give it? I don’t like giving up, but at some point, do I have to throw in the towel?
Would love to hear from other founders—when do you know it’s time to walk away? Or do you just keep pushing?
