@steveb For early-stage companies, especially for first 100 users and without spending too much into ads and events, it's always better to start with smaller and niche communities. If you have time and money, then this may work. I have planned and executed marketing of a B2B company which produces jet-engines, thermal power plants, MRI/CT-Scan machines.. and we focused heavily on thought leadership. Their target customers were not more than a couple of thousand people in the world, they could've easily bought a couple of thousand billboards and placed them in-front of their customers' houses :) The reason they went with thought leadership was simple, the business they're selling to are reselling to customers. Airplanes for example, a traveller should feel relieved when they see logo on the engine before boarding it. That would encourage Aircrafts to use my client's engines. I hope this made sense

@shabb_katoch That was around 12 years ago, there was no website but we created subsections on Economist and Forbes
