We launched Searchlight, our core B2B platform on PH last year, and we’ve been improving our intelligent referencing software to help companies make better, faster hiring decisions. We now count companies like TrueCar, Udemy, and MasterClass as customers. But then the world changed in the last few months. Having looked at the recruitment space for a while now - there's definitely a huge need for deriving more information from recommendations. The resume or LinkedIn profile itself is just too small, and too 'gamed' a data point for recruitment today. It's really interesting having all of the recommendations pulled into one spot, as a tool to show how employable someone is - I'd love to have some information on how rich the recommendations are and learn if any recruiters have used these recommendation profiles to get people to interview!

Really cool concept! Love how much it holistically increases the profile of the candidate -- would be interested in seeing this expand to other application markets, ie medical school residency matching or faculty member sponsorship during the PhD application process.

Super helpful tool!

I’ve been using this to provide warm intros for my former students who were affected by COVID 19 layoffs. Searchlight’s reference questions are super effective, making great use of my time – they truly get to the root of what it’s like to work with someone. It also feels really good to know that my students can use my references multiple times across their job application process. This will have a meaningful impact on how we think about supporting people in our communities and help our networks make smart hiring choices.

Love that you make writing recommendations not just EASIER but also more EFFECTIVE. I think writing an effective rec is definitely a skill, and in fact a poorly written one is more harm than good. Thanks for making this.
