Record your screen from your web browser

I made Screen Recorded because I wanted a screen recorder tool that could be easily used from a web browser without any sign-up or watermarking. All the recording & processing is done entirely in your browser. For the initial release the functionality is very simple. It can record windows or browser tabs. You can narrate the recording using a microphone as you record, and you can use your webcam to show your face in the corner of the recording. There are many features I would like to add, but at the same time the UI will be kept as simple as possible. Additional options will probably be hidden in an "Advanced" menu. Since the recording is done in the browser, there can be some limitations about what it can currently do. For example, capture of system audio is limited. Firefox doesn't to capture any system audio, whilst Chrome & Edge are limited to capturing audio from browser tabs. A workaround for system audio not being captured is to enable microphone capture in Capture Options and have it picked up from your speakers. Another limitation is that the captured frames per second can be bad when the window isn't visible. This seems particularly bad in Firefox. It can also occur in Chrome, but doesn't seem to happen as much. It could also be related to how powerful your hardware is.

Screen Recorded sounds like a practical and much-needed tool! The simplicity of being able to use it directly from a browser without sign-ups or watermarks is a big win, especially for users who need quick, no-fuss screen recordings. It’s awesome that you’ve kept the UI minimal while focusing on core functionality like recording windows or tabs, adding narration, and even including webcam support. The limitations you mentioned about system audio and frames per second are understandable given the current constraints of browser-based recording. It’s helpful that you provided a workaround for system audio, and it’s great to hear you’re thinking of adding more features down the road while keeping the interface clean. This could be an excellent go-to tool for quick screen captures, tutorials, or walkthroughs—looking forward to seeing how it evolves!

This is an impressive and much-needed tool, @jfozonx! The ease of screen recording directly from a web browser without the hassle of sign-ups or watermarks is a game-changer. I appreciate the simplicity of the initial release, focusing on essential features like window and tab recording, microphone narration, and the webcam overlay. The transparency about current limitations and your plans for future enhancements is refreshing. I’m looking forward to seeing how this evolves, especially with potential improvements in system audio capture and frame rate stability. Great work!

This could be a game-changer for tutorials, demos, feedback, and online education. Adding zoom in and out capabilities would enhance this feature even more! Imagine being able to highlight specific areas of the screen for detailed explanation or demonstration. This would not only make the recordings more effective but also more engaging for viewers.

@nifal_adam2 Thank you Nifal. It was borne out of not having a convenient web-based screen recorder that didn't need accounts, and didn't watermark videos. Keen to continue improving it to make it as useful and accessible as possible.
