ScamNet is an anti-scam app that lets you know when things are “scammy” and stops them before it reaches you. It's engineered to shield you from scams proactively in addition to enabling you to check for scams manually.

Wow, this sounds like such a useful app! I'm always worried about falling for scams, so having a proactive shield like ScamNet would give me peace of mind. I'm curious, how does the app determine if something is "scammy"? Also, have you considered partnering with organizations like the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission to further enhance the app's scam detection capabilities? Great job on creating such an important tool!

It works by looking for scam indicators in the contents (SMS, Websites) and a blacklist for calls fuelled by user reports.
In brief, It identifies the call to action among other factors and runs it through an evaluation engine which then outputs if something is scam.
Details of how it works can be found in the privacy section of each module in the app.
Planning on to reach out to the respective agencies around the world but I reckon it will be a challenge. Some are already in!
I love this kind of app! So far the app looks very clean and useful. Amazing that this can be offered for free.
ScamNet looks like a much-needed tool in today's digital world. I'm interested to know how it updates its database of scams – is it user-driven or does it use some sort of AI detection? Or does it connect with some already existing databases? Great initiative, though!
@ekarp I would like to mention that it does all of the above. It aims to minimally alert the user if it detects that something isn’t right and block it if it’s very confident.
