Remote Health — Global health insurance for remote teams and individuals

I was just thinking about this. As a remote work advocate, we don't always think about it but health insurance is crucial for any employee. If you're a neophyte in insurance, SafetyWing does a solid job of helping you choose the best plan and add-ons to bring excellent benefits to your remote team. One of the last missing pieces to make remote work and remote teams as normal as we see regular companies that have offices is this. For years remote workers and nomads really only had travel insurance available which would just fly them back home whenever an emergency happened. Except for some expat healthcare which would restrict you to live in a single place, there literally wasn't anything available that gave true healthcare coverage while you could work from anywhere in the world.

@sarahkindofcool been a customer of your current product and I loved the experience, however the claim process is terrible and you aren't covered for much (when you actually need it) and your service is underwritten by another shambolic company that is an old school insurance company. I hope your new product is a better experience for companies out there.

@sarahkindofcool this looks hella cool! Are you guys available to offer coverage in Canada? Do you also cover large association type groups? Association of physicians, group plans for lawyers in a province, or a national chamber of commerce with members through out the country?

When the quarantine began, we all had to adapt to the new circumstances. I used to work with primerica. I liked it, and the primerica customer service representatives are professional (it is very important for me). But when I foudnd out about the appearance of the first global health insurance, I became interested and decided to try it. I haven't regretted my choice. Great product!

I used SafetyWing for travel medical insurance on a recent 2 week trip abroad. Different product from Remote Health since it was for personal use, but the same company. It was a great experience and less than half the cost of traditional travel insurance quotes I got.

Hi Guys. Any clinics that accept directly the SafetyWing suscription ? I find out that i have to pay out of pocket in the Netherlands and then start a reimbursment process with Safetywing which is less than ideal. I'd like to have a GP at least where i can walk in and be accepted with SafetyWing directly. Is that possible anywhere in the Benelux region ?

Which countries do you support?

This was such a clear gap in health insurance offerings, especially given the vast differences in healthcare coverage and cost between countries. Big kudos on building a much-needed solution!

Very interesting idea! I worked for an organization with a distributed team in eight countries and it was very hard to insure everyone. We'd be stuck with some mix of short term travel insurance (not very applicable), offering out of pocket reimbursement ourselves (which was OK if the local costs were low), and a wing and a prayer. This could have been really helpful!
