I got a random story. So I was at Starbucks and someone tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was a friend of so-and-so. I said, yeah... how'd you know her? Turns out he was the owner of the dog my friend was sitting from Rover! My friend sent him few photos of his dog and he recognized me from one that was I in. Small world!

I'm pretty curious how they're doing, especially since their main competitor DogVacay announced 1,000,000 pet nights booked last week.
@andyfortson I've always been of the opinion that there can be a lot of players in fields, more so than lots of people in the startup community believe.

Just found out about this from another dog owner - looks like a great alternative to the more traditional "kennel" options - excited to try it out.

I've used @dogvacay before - and that company seems to be doing pretty well. Which came first - dogvacay or Rover, I wonder (Rover seems to have a very established FB page but this is first I've heard of them).
Hey @TMFelous & @WareSarah! To answer your question about which came first: Rover was founded in June 2011 and DogVacay was founded in March 2012.
