This one is a year in the making.
We originally designed Robin for office-first work in a pandemic-free world. Today, this approach feels a little incomplete. The pandemic accelerated flexible work adoption by changing the relationship most people have with their office. Even if your office is open, you’re probably still reading this from home.
Workplace teams (a mix of IT, Facilities, and People Ops) have a big challenge ahead of them. Companies now have to support a mix of remote and in-office days (aka “hybrid work”) — Office Pass is a platform-wide update that makes managing these flexible workplaces possible in Robin. It revamps the employee experience on mobile and updates admin management so workplace teams can confidently give more daily decision-making power to their employees.
This is the first of a few major releases planned this year, and moves us from office-first to mobile-first. With luck, you’ll read about the next one from a desk inside your office 😉
Having been at Robin since the early days, this is an awesome day for us. The last year has been a wild ride and we made a big bet that companies would need help to support what people want, workplace flexibility.
Every company will have a unique take on the policies and expectations, I see this as our reaction to what our thousands of customers were asking for, tools to make this transition successful.

This is SUCH a good idea! Companies will save significantly on fixed costs by leasing a smaller office, while employees will be happier having flexible work and more work-from-home opportunities. Win-win! Love it!! 👏 👏 👏
