Zenefits co-founder Parker Conrad just revealed his new company:
"Rippling automatically does the 100 little things that IT, HR, Facilities, Legal, Finance, and employees have to do when joining, working at, or leaving a company. From buying a computer to running payroll."
Good writeup on TechCrunch: https://techcrunch.com/2017/03/1...
We use rippling for our payroll and it was one of the best onboarding experiences I've had. Really excited for this product as we grow our company! They are tackling a problem/headache that NEEDS to be solved and in my opinion, early signs show they are going to nail it.
Great idea and execution! I love how it's starting with one specific pain point vs all-in-one solution. Excited to see how the product evolves overtime.
Really enjoying the hire/off-board by the push of a button positioning π
Interesting - looks like a lot of the features here are competing directly with companies like Microsoft, Oracle, etc. who already have pretty strong offerings in the Identity & Access Management space, though this seems to take it one step further by integrating some of the non-account-related functions.
I wonder what size organisation Prasanna is targeting with this.
The pricing scheme seems a bit agressive, charging a monthly fee per user, given that the bulk of activities will occur during onboarding/offboarding.
@rossdcurrie We are taking offerings that are hard to setup (LDAP, IT management) that big companies already use, understand the intent and taking it downmarket. The pricing is way lower compared to any other offering out there on the market which does 10% of what we do.
I like this because it has the possibility of creating a really nice experience for new hires and shortening the time to actual productivity. The offboarding is also a thoughtful consideration to ensure everything that matters is completed by all parties. Nice work!
This is a game changer. @mikeaag and I sat down a month or two ago to hack together an MVP that handles onboarding new team members and automating permissions, but we couldn't seem to find a way to do it with many of the important apps, the API didn't seem to allow it.
I'm not sure whether we overlooked something, or whether the Rippling team have gone direct and integrated with each of the partners, but either way the execution the Rippling team here have done looks superb. I can see this really catching on π
I never had to do a lot of the HR side of hiring, but the onboarding of a new dev is complex enough: buy computer, give access to this, to that, plan training, point to docs, etc, etc. I've been wanting for an app that allows me to build this list and maintained up to date.
It would be good if when updating the list, previous employees also have to do that task.
The big question. Is this a Zenefits alternative, or is it intended to be used in unison to HR tech?
I tested out Rippling, and it feels like an HR platform with a focus on the onboarding / offboarding.
I also noticed that Rippling has payroll (California only), which suggests that it's more than just an onboarding checklist. Eventually with the data they're storing, they're getting into the realm of data that require heavy compliance checks and audits.
It's like an HR platform, without any mention of compliance...which feels kind of strange :P
@axertion If you look at Terms of Service 1.5 c) it situates Rippling as a Data Hosting company rather than a HR Platform provider. Much like Uber is not a taxi company but rather a transport network company. Either way it looks like it solves a huge pain point that he is well qualified to solve.
Hi Prasanna,
I left you guys a message on Intercom more than 2 days ago and the message hasn't been seen or replied to... I realize that there are timezone differences but this is not a ideal potential beginning... I'm hoping you'll be able to reply to my inquiry very soon...
Thanks :)
{ maybe there's a holiday I'm not aware of though... :/ }
P.S.: The Request a demo sign up button yields a 'Something went wrong'...
