The Pre-Product Hunt. RFS - a place where people post problems to be solved or startups to be started. Request or upvote. Top requests bubble up for founders to address. Once founders have a solution, they get a high-intent audience.
Too often, founders build product first and find customers second. Once they find customers with problems, they actually start building solutions. This usually involves product pivots and lots of time wasted.
What if customers came first and product came second?
This is the mission of RFS. We want a place where anyone can share real problems that they want solved. If people resonate, then these problems rise to the top. Now, founders can start with verifiable customer pain, and build solutions that directly address them. When solutions are launched, Requesters and Upvoters are notified.
Let's shorten the problem-solution cycle and build better products together!
Fantastic idea! I hope people start using it and chatting. Crowd sourcing ideas like this is very fun.
Will the top ranked (highest voted) idea always be at the top or is there a reset function based on time?
Congrats on the launch!
@anthony_latona Hi Anthony, thank you for the comment and for using RFS! "Top" ideas will stay at the top for a historical, all-time leaderboard. But the default sort is Trending. There is a ranking decay for "Trending" ideas, where recent ideas rise to the very top and drop as their upvotes go stale.
@jason_alafgani Hah, for sure! I wonder how an actual reddit competitor would do... tough to get enough users.
The default homepage used to be updated so quickly when anything would happen in the world and now it's the same links persisting for far too long.
