RepoNotes — Get Slack updates on any codebase as it changes

RepoNotes summarizes code changes then sends you Slack posts so you save time & look smart. It works by scanning Github repositories for code changes and transforming the code into well-written summaries so you spend less time reading code and writing updates.

I built RepoNotes as a personal project to help me stay updated. Now you can use it! First 100 subscribers get the basic plan for free forever (code: PHREPO123)! How it works: It summarizes code changes for you then sends you Slack posts so you save time & look smart. Technically: it uses OpenAI to transform the code diff files to well-written updates, then a Slack integration sends the summary to your Channel so you instantly know what's up. - Here are few summary examples: https://www.reponotes.com/#direc... - Get started at https://www.reponotes.com Other stuff to know: If you don't see the public Github repo you want, drop the Github repo name in the comments, and I'll add it! Also, Connecting RepoNotes to your private codebase requires a setup step I haven't automated yet, so I'll send you an email after you subscribe.

are you constantly reading repos like 24x7 or we need to activate scan? congratulations 🎊 for some coders working on actively developing technologies, this could b a gold. what do you think who could b using it?
Dan Hightower
@naveed_rehman it constantly reads the code

Hey Dan! Congrats on launching RepoNotes, it sounds like a useful tool! I'm curious, how do you handle different programming languages? Do you have plans to expand beyond code summaries in the future?
Dan Hightower
@goyashy great question. The general use model seems to be handling all of the languages I throw at it pretty well. I've even tried some web3 codebases, and it has worked pretty well. For now, I'll focus on making the summaries better and smoothing out the app UI.

This sounds like a really useful tool for developers! I love the idea of getting Slack updates on code changes in real-time. Have you considered integrating with other version control platforms like Bitbucket or GitLab? Also, it would be great to have the option to customize the content of the Slack posts, so that we can choose what information to include in the summaries. Overall, great job on RepoNotes!

Congratulations, @danhightowerjr1 for the launch! Just explored it, and it's a game-changer for keeping track of code changes! The Slack integration is super convenient. Can't wait to use it regularly. Any plans to automate the setup for private codebases? Great work overall!
