Hello Product Hunt Community πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ Thank you for checking out our launch. We started off with the vision to streamline remote work. We believe that remote work isn’t just about working from home or working onsite, it's about Freedom! πŸ’ͺ The freedom to choose any job anywhere in the world and working whenever you feel like working. While first part of this is already taken care of as there are countless remote opportunities for people living in all parts of the world. However, when it comes to work hours, majority companies end up fixing shift hours according to one timezone so that everyone is available to collaborate. This synchronous form of remote work is one of the biggest challenge that remote workers face today & are still looking for ways in which everyone can work hours which suit them while not compromising on team productivity and togetherness. Async work is the future of remote work as its the most scalable way to build remote teams. We identified two major issues which make it difficult for remote teams to go async. πŸ”† Team Availabilities: With no fixed hours there can be chaos, you don’t know when to expect anyone, for all you know someone could be on leave and you keep waiting for them to respond. πŸ—―οΈ Work Updates: Most meetings are normally sync-ups & progress updates calls. If teams were to go async, how can everyone stay updated on the progress team has made. We addressed the team availabilities issue through the good old Attendance & PTO management plug-ins which work right from Slack, MS Teams & Lark. Using these plug-ins everyone in the team knows who’s available for a quick huddle or who won’t be coming in today. To increase work visibility, the first thing that we built was a daily check-in questionnaire which team members have to answer as they start their day. Some of our power users suggested that since they manage their sprints in Jira so they would love to have Remoty integrated with Jira. We’ve therefore built this integration in a novel way as not only does it work as a traditional time tracker for Jira issues but it also increases work visibility, decreases context switching while ensuring that all Jira issues are updated instantaneously. Very excited to hear the feedback & see if this integration really adds any value for our new & existing users! Cheers! πŸ₯‚

Hey Guys! I’m Owais - Co-founder of Remoty which is an attendance & PTO management tool designed specifically for distributed remote teams. Our latest addition to Remoty’s feature set supercharges our Project Billing module. The Jira Time Tracker by Remoty is here to help you to: πŸ‘“ increase work visibility over your remote employees πŸ’΅ boost your projects profitability πŸ“† measure and enhance your team productivity ⏳ comprehend how exactly your employees' working hours are spent πŸ›  minimise context switching & tool overdose How it works? You just have to follow a 2 step process in order to enable a two way synchronisation between Remoty & Jira. It will enable you to: βœ… import existing Jira issues into your Slack workspace βœ… track time on Jira issues without recreating the issues βœ… update status on your Jira issues βœ… share progress updates on different Jira projects βœ… export & share the project reports for analysis βœ… see important updates made in Jira This is a special treat to all our existing customers who have been using Remoty for time tracking & Project Billing and were also using some other project management tools like Jira, ClickUp or Asana in their teams. We are thrilled to partner with Product Hunt and are committed to giving back to this fantastic community. The Product Hunt community will have access to our legacy pricing till 28th February 2023 with additional 30% discount on Remoty’s annual plans. πŸ₯³ Thanks for supporting us, and we love to see your feedback in the comments! πŸ™πŸΌ

πŸ’‘ Bright idea
Really like that you're trying to give more visibility into tracking different tasks in JIRA. It can be really hard to quantify if someone is struggling with a specific engineering task. This will help employees/managers to better manage expectations. Would be cool if you had a tagging strategy that you could incorporate that would help engineering managers without all of the context better understand how long something should take. This could be an OAuth integration with Google for example with the tag OAuth as a reference on the JIRA ticket. Also, would be awesome if you made it easier to consume data about your engineers with analytics that is out-of-the-box that aren't necessarily supported in JIRA.
Mohammad Owais Basit
@cjries Thank you for your amazing feedback! πŸ™πŸΌ We are already working on new designs to provide out-of-the-box analytics, combining data not just from Jira but other daily utility tools as well. Using Google OAuth for tagging in order to gather key insights sounds like a great idea! πŸ’‘

Hey @mahad_ahmed, congrats on the launch. Curious to know how the developer time is actually tracked? Is it a manual input by the developer or you pick some data points from the tools?
Fatimah Zafar
@mahad_ahmed @kshitij_mohan Thank you so much πŸ™ We have designed a very lightweight & intuitive process where developers start and end their day by using simple shortcuts in their team communication tools like Slack, MS Teams or Lark. Remoty automatically creates timesheets for each employee by recording the time between clock-in and clock-out (including all the break times in between). The Team Leads or the Project Managers have access to live status of their employees in Remoty's web application. This is an interesting concept. It sounds like you've thought through the issues associated with asynchronous work and have developed a comprehensive solution that could solve them. Keep up the good work @rameen_zafar, @mahad_ahmed & @muhammad_owais2
Fatimah Zafar
@heyumarkhan Thank you so much for checking out our launch 🀩🀩 We aim to streamline team processes for remote/hybrid team with asynchronous work mode. Looking forward to achieving the goal. πŸš€

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Congratulations on your launch! πŸŽ‰ I'm super excited to see the integration with Jira and how it increases work visibility and decreases context switching. Could you tell us a bit more about how this integration works? Also, are there any use cases that you’d like to share? Keep up the amazing work! 🀩
Fatimah Zafar
@paolo_degiglio Thank you so much for your kind words 🀩 In order to enable this integration, you just have to follow a 2-step process in order to see this two way synchronization between Remoty & Jira in action. The Jira Time Tracker by Remoty when working in Slack is proven to be a powerful tool for tracking, managing, and optimizing team managers’ time, helping them work more efficiently and effectively on other important tasks as it offers the following: πŸ‘‰ Time Tracking for Project Management β†’ You won’t have to waste your time in going to Jira workspace, searching for a project, locating the target and then seeing the logged time on a specific project by a specific employee. πŸ‘‰ Increase Team Productivity β†’ By keeping a track of who has delivered how many stories/issues in a certain period of time. πŸ‘‰ Identify Potential Blockers β†’ you will be able to identify blockers from miles away as you’ll have your team’s activity logs + πŸ‘‰ Track progress of the team β†’ progress notes added by the employees are displayed in a single view which can help you see the complete story in one frame. πŸ‘‰ Analyze Task return ratios β†’ with Jira issues being updated instantaneously & accurately, you will have more understanding on how much time does it take for an issue or a ticket to transition from one status to another. πŸ‘‰ Accurate SLA fulfillment insights β†’ When you will have a better idea of your task return ratios as you can get a compete overview in just one screen dashboard, your SLA insights will automatically get improved πŸ‘‰ Project ROIs β†’ You’ll have a better understanding which project is taking more time than its fair share. With accurate time logs you have a much clearer understanding where to cut costs & save money. πŸ‘‰ Team Collaboration β†’ The integration of Jira time tracker and Slack will facilitate team collaboration by allowing team members to discuss and resolve issues related to any issue in real time & that too right from their team communication tool. πŸ‘‰ Better Performance Evaluation β†’ By tracking time spent on specific tasks, team leaders or managers can evaluate the performance of individual team members, helping them make data-driven decisions about project assignments and resource allocation. πŸ‘‰ Billing and Invoicing β†’ For teams that bill clients based on the time spent on projects, our Jira time tracker integrated with Slack will provide an accurate record of the time spent on each task, making it easier to generate invoices and manage billing. πŸ‘‰ Task Reminders β†’ Remoty sends reminders to team members to log their time, ensuring that all hours worked are accurately recorded and no working hours are left unrecorded Do explore & play around our platform. Looking forward to hear your feedback 🀩🀩

Nice! TBH i didn't even realize that Jira had time tracking haha - though I've had teammates at past companies use tools like HubStaff for time tracking. Any plans to integrate with that?
Fatimah Zafar
@stedmanblake Lol πŸ˜‚ I guess you came across Remoty at a good time then! Talking about HubStaff, it can be listed as one of our direct competitors but has a different target market. It is made for the teams who need to "track" their employees' activities & screens in between their working hours. However Remoty has a vision to streamline team processes for a remote team. We believe that asynchronous work is the future of remote work as its the most scalable way to build distributed remote teams. Remoty tracks the total working hours of employees without actually "tracking" them & giving them the freedom to work according to their own time zones and shift timings. The "Jira Time Tracker by Remoty" has been specifically designed for distributed remote teams to help them minimize context switching between multiple tools & increase work visibility over their remote/hybrid team πŸ‘Ύ Let me know if you are looking for any other integration. We can surely discuss the requirements and work on that βš™οΈ

I met a lot of people who use Jira and Slack for work so integrating them is a really smart idea. Congrats on the launch! πŸ‘

Congratulations on the launch! Jira and Slack are exactly the two software tools I use every day! Integrating with Zendesk would be cool too. Thanks for the awesome product πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ”₯
Fatimah Zafar
@mycelebs_elle Thank you so much 🀩🀩 Please do try the integration out and share your feedback with us πŸ₯‚ Zendesk integration sounds like an interesting idea! How exactly do you envision this integration working? - Would you want Remoty to track time on the support tickets created in Zendesk? - Would you like the activity logs of Zendesk to be synced with Remoty, so you could see when your colleagues checked-in, which Jira issues they worked on and which tickets they closed on any given day.

Mark Lamb
sounds like a great idea, we tried a few plugins before but it never really worked, need to give this a go
@highgroundio Yes pleasee! πŸ™ We've had amazing feedback pouring in from the beta users. The ICs/engineers using it day in & out love it since they don't have to jump here & there and break context. On a side note, do you find any value in the activity log (one shown in the last gallery image)?
Mark Lamb
@mahad_ahmed yea i thibnk its a must - lets be honest, accountability is key, it might not be something we all look at every day but we would sure take comfort in knowing its there. its also essential to determine the full amount of time allocated to a project, if its not tracked at that granular level you'll never be able to add it all up at the end or track as you go, especially against budget
@highgroundio Exactlyyy! I can't even begin to count the number of times when engineers would just start logging time randomly at the end of sprint or whenever a PM would have to turn in the timesheets. 🀦🏻 My understanding is that majority of logs rather than helping you see the complete picture, paint a false one altogether. πŸ™
Mark Lamb
😹 LOL
@mahad_ahmed yea man, like 'oh what blackhole can i dump this time into' 🀣
@highgroundio IKRRR! πŸ€¦πŸ»πŸ˜‚

Congrats on the launch!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ Our team was struggling with context switching between Jira, Slack, and other tools to log work updates, keep track of each other's availability and log working hours. But now with Remoty, we can do it all from one place - right within Slack! It's been a game-changer for our collaboration and productivity!
Fatimah Zafar

Hello Community, I have been using Remoty for some time, and I love it. I am a founder of Feedbird and we are fully remote, we work in async mode and it was only possible because of Remoty. I don't have to think about what everyone is doing all tasks are created when I am available and everyone works on their tasks when they are available. Remoty allows me to track their progress and if they are facing any blockers. We are using it to get the max out of remote culture and I recommend everyone in my circle to use it. Love you Remoty 😍😍.

Congratulations on the launch Team Remoty. For the past year, we have been taking advantage of Remoty's convenience and simplicity and it has been instrumental in organizing our remote operations. One of the best features of Remoty is the availability announcement, which made it possible for us to smoothly grow from a team of three to twenty-five. Without Remoty, scaling a remote team would have been more difficult. I have recommended Remoty to many of my friends who run remote companies and they have all praised its powerful feature set, impressive customer service, and regular updates.
Fatimah Zafar
@usamaabidj Thank you so much for your kind words! πŸ€— We are glad to know that Remoty has been helpful in organizing your remote operations and that you've been able to scale your team effectively with the availability announcement feature. ✈️ It's great to hear that not only you but all your friends to whom you referred Remoty also found it powerful and impressive πŸ’ͺ We're committed to providing the best possible experience for our users, so it's great to hear that our efforts are being recognized and appreciated. 😊 Trying our best to continue making a positive impact on remote work operations & streamlining team processes for distributed remote or hybrid teams Thank you for your support! πŸ™πŸ»

I've been using Remoty for over a year now with my agency team. I've shared feedback with Mahad and his team about how we're using this tool and they've always been responsive and eager to help us get the most out of existing features or even implement new solutions that would benefit other teams like ours! Being able to effectively handle time tracking within Slack makes it easy to get everyone on the same page and enforce teamwide adoption. I haven't found another tool quite like it!!
Fatimah Zafar

Congratulations on the launch Team. Looking forward to explore the new feature. Meanwhile, can you explain some potential use cases that will help us maximise our understanding of bringing the best out of the new roll out?
Fatimah Zafar
@arham_javed23 Thank you so much!πŸ™πŸΌ Remoty's integration with Jira can be used to: πŸ‘‰ import existing Jira issues into your slack workspace πŸ‘‰ track time on Jira issues without recreating the issues πŸ‘‰ update status on your Jira issues πŸ‘‰ share progress updates on different Jira projects πŸ‘‰ export & share the project reports for analysis πŸ‘‰ see important updates made in Jira While this will help the IC (individual contributor) to minimize context switching, it aims to help the Project Managers or Team Leads to get important insights like: 🌍Team productivity -> who has delivered how many stories/issues in a certain period of time. 🚧 Potential Blockers -> you will be able to identify blockers from miles away as you’ll have your team’s activity logs + progress notes in a single view which can help you see the complete story in one frame. πŸ“Š Task return ratios/ Accurate SLA fulfillment insights -> with Jira issues being updated instantaneously & accurately, you will have more understanding on how much time does it take for an issue or a ticket to transition from one status to another. πŸ’» Project ROIs -> You’ll have a better understanding which project is taking more time than its fair share.
