Tried a whole bunch of PKM apps (Roam, Logseq, Mem, Notion, Tana, others) before finally settling on Remnote. I use it to take learning notes and review flashcards, daily journaling, task management both at work and home. Also have a shared knowledge base with my partner that we use to coordinate and record important things.
Pros:
- Well developed and fully integrated Spaced Repetition/Flash Card system
- Fantastic UI
- A sound structural philosophy, really nice middle ground between too much freedom (Roam) and too much structure (Tana).
- Solid mobile apps
- Clear roadmap/priorities, interactive devs
Cons:
- Chugs on huge documents
- Some bugs in the WYSIWYG editor. I think I prefer Roam/Logseq's approach to editing better.
@plundh Glad to have you on board!
That middle ground with just the right amount of structure is key. Thanks for the UI praise as well!
How big of a document are we talking? We've made a number of improvements here recently (the editor is fully "virtualized" now) - if you think this is something we might be able to fix, please send us a note at support@remnote.com. (If the documents are massive, no promises though 😅)
@martin_schneider1 Hmm, you're right that it seems much improved. It might be that I mistakenly interpreted the lazy loading as the same issue since it can appear similarly if the network speed isn't optimal. Thanks!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am a RN fan from China. We hold a community for chinese users. We love RemNote, as it brings lots of changes for our daily life and learning.
The team is full of passions, they get feedbacks from us and made great progress for the developing.
We usually give feedback and new feature requirements for https://feedback.remnote.com/roa...
Cons:
1. Flashcards + bi-links
2. Everything is a rem, that's means you can do anything in the future with the plugins
3. tree-style knowledge management, that's the best method to manage knowledge, not the information.
4. mobile apps are great and smooth.
5. i18n support for eastern languages, the team are so friendly and professional to handle i18n issues from the ground to the top.
Dis-cons: it is hard to found, aha 😂, only one thing i could complain...
1. UI looks old style, but it always evolving, and currently, it reaches the normal level compared with other tools.

Beyond excited for this!
RemNote has quickly become one of my favourite products of all time. I used to forget nearly all the information captured into my knowledge base – but now I feel like I have this superpower to remember anything I find important. Super satisfying to run through flashcards too :)
For any students out there, I scored top marks with half as much effort the term I switched to RemNote. Works like magic 🪄
Congrats Moritz and team for this amazing achievement. Rooting for you!
RemNote is a fantastic tool for students. It allows me to easily capture and organise my ideas and thoughts in a way that is intuitive and easy to navigate. The flashcard feature is beneficial when studying for exams. It allows me to review my notes more interactively, using the learning science to help me get higher grades while spending less time studying.
Additionally, the ability to highlight, reference, and link all of my source material is a huge time saver. It eliminates the need for application switching and makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. The Omnibar menu also allows me to complete actions in seconds. Plus, the best part is accessing and making changes to my notes offline. This feature is a huge plus and allows me to study wherever I am, whether or not I have internet access. RemNote is a game changer for my studying and long-term knowledge management. I highly recommend it to any student.
Brilliant! Well done. I was one of the beta testers and they paid attention to all my submissions of bugs and worked very hard at it. I have been using it daily and it is an excellent stable release with amazing real-time syncing!
I've been using this for almost two years, and have been beta-testing RemNote iOS for some time too! This is literally THE best notes app out there, and it has everything I need all in one. The way I would describe it is the best of both worlds between the flexibility and structure of plain bullet notes and the pure focus on flashcards of Anki. It lets you make flashcards embedded in your notes, and that single feature makes it the best note-taking app for me. Please give this a try everyone :)
Woah 😲. I've been trying to find this kind of product without actually know what I was looking for. This will replace all of my podcast and books notes that I take on my iPhone notes app. Great idea guys! I
