Love what you guys are doing, best in class. Curious to know what has changed since the first time you were on Product Hunt and what has been the biggest surprise and challenge since then as well?

@ianmikutel Thanks! It's been great to have actual users, and to see what people want and what they don't care about. The biggest surprise is definitely how badly companies (especially big ones) want good documentation; I thought it would be a niché product. The challenge we're facing now is rethinking documentation. We've seen patterns (such as bad OAuth implementations, horrible rambling confusing authentication strategies, weird uses) that make consuming APIs and other code way too hard. We want to use this opportunity to completely change documentation, and make any API dead simple to consume. After all, over the next few years, most people using APIs won't have a CS degree. They'll be regular people wanting to do interesting things with data.

Thanks, Ryan! Right now, we're focused on making it crazy easy to get docs down and keep them up to date, without sacrificing on aesthetic appeal. Everybody should have great docs, done. We hope we can really change the way docs are written, too: more interactive, more personalized, easier to use. The front end of an API is really the documentation, and we hope to take that experience up a notch (or three).
