Rally Rd. lets anyone buy/sell equity in the things they care about. After funding 35+ Collector Cars + active trading, we're expanding into other asset classes. Our newest offerings include a 1st Edition Harry Potter, a Honus Wagner T206 Card, and more. 🚗

Very excited to see the expansion into other products! Curious - how are you finding potential buyers for the products that you're doing initial offers for? And how are you all monetizing :)
Rob Petrozzo
@charleyma In terms of bringing buyers to the platform, we’ve built a very strong member group through building real product, and only releasing once all the t’s were crossed. We’ve always worked under the philosophy that thoughtful process and execution trumps headlines, and it’s played to our advantage with great word of mouth and a very loyal investor group. In terms of buyers for full buyouts, we’ve been building a very unique collection which has similarly marketed itself. The first two assets to exit the platform were purchased by individual buyers looking for best example of assets that we had in stock, founds us via network and were willing to pay a premium for “best example.” We intend to continue building the collection the same way. As for monetization, we intend to continue earning our members trust and listening to their feedback on additional product offerings and experiences, then an optional premium tier will follow which will incorporate a layer on top of the investment product. More to come on that soon!

Can people from outside of the US invest?
Rob Petrozzo
@fdeus currently U.S. only, but international in the future
Bram Kanstein (@bramk)
@fdeus @robpetrozzo is there a place to sign up to get notified for that?
Rob Petrozzo
@fdeus @bramk we're building in a dedicated link in our new site (launching soon), but in any instance where a user opts-in on signup with a currently unavailable address we'll be sure to notify on all channels. Definitely high on the priority list right now

@fdeus @robpetrozzo Should have put (US-only) somewhere on the appstore page. Just wasted my time downloading and signing up.
Rob Petrozzo
@fdeus @sambrucejoseph The app is in additional app stores because we have a lot of members who live abroad that have US social security numbers and bank accounts, so we didn't want to limit anyone. The ability to browse is still available to all regions. Drop me a note personally (rob@rallyrd.com) and I can give you some insight or answer any questions as well.

Love this concept - hoping to see you open this up to international investors soon. A few questions/points of feedback spring to mind. 1) Are you making a separate SPV for each item that is then filing under Tier2 RegA, or is it all Tier2 RegA offerings directly from Rally Rd (as in theory this would limit the amount of offerings you can do in the future?) 2) Since you are doing Tier 2 offerings, you can take accredited investors, this means non-US individuals or entities who meet the US accredited investor burden. Is there any reason for not doing that currently? 3) It also seems you could split out some portion of each item to an international entity and carry that offering out under Reg S. Is this something you are pursuing? 4) As someone who has done a lot of investing in various collectibles, I'm excited the app is branching out beyond just classic cars, the classic car market is akin to housing investments. They are very stable, and nearly always rising. It's challenging for an investor to make the wrong choice in that market as long as they have the access. Other collectibles grow and wain in value, and often need much more industry expertise. How do you ensure the same investment quality to users in different markets? What's the process for picking items? 5) Do you have plans for collectors or buyers to facilitate partial offerings on your platform in the future? Similar to AngelList for investors, let a buyer or collector find an item, list it on the platform, crowdfund its acquisition and get a portion of ownership as carry? 6) From a marketing perspective, the current name "Rally Rd." does bind you into cars. While the knee-jerk impulse might be to fully rebrand, or to try and shorten the name to 'Rally' (which would be far to competitive) - I'd suggest that a shift in positioning would be fine. Consider something like "Rally Rd. - Invest in What Moves You." Investing in collectibles isn't about finances, precious metals or returns. The value of the items stem from what make someone passionate, what they care about, and what moves them. This is a lovely play on words that can be used with the image of cars and roads, and tie nicely back into your startups history without pinning you too closely to one niche. Best of luck on your continued growth!

@adamscochran Thanks Adam! Without getting too into the weeds, all offerings are under Reg A+ with each asset in a separate entity. International expansion is 100% on the roadmap - just like when we initially launched we're being very diligent about structuring it in a way that's user-friendly and can scale as we grow. In terms of asset selection, for each vertical we have dedicated in-house experts who source and vet each asset - with classic cars only about 2% of what we look at meets the standards to make it onto the platform, and we're taking this same approach as we expand into other types of assets. We think the first three items being previewed now are a good indication of the quality and type of one-of-a-kind assets we plan to bring to members 💯 Nothing to share yet on the branding front, but appreciate your thoughtful feedback and stay tuned for some awesome stuff coming up throughout the summer and into the fall :)

Congrats on the launch guys, but I've been waiting for Android since the start! What's going on??
Rob Petrozzo
@ashman1012 Its been a long time coming, but its coming very soon. We’ve been building out the stack to ensure its a native, responsibly designed and built, and best possible experience (along with a revamped web experience for all platforms). We’re going to do something special for the android users as soon as it launches, hold me to it! PS- 50% of our dev team is on Android, the internal chatter is as loud as the external 😉 )

@robpetrozzo Awesome! I can't wait. I visited the store back in I think February and I was told April -- the suspense is insane 😅
Rob Petrozzo
@ashman1012 It's been really well received, psyched to have the community support the pathway we're taking! 🙌

Thanks for the hunt Nick! When we built V1 of Rally in 2016, we started by making Classic Car investing accessible to everyone - but the vision was always about creating a new paradigm in equity ownership. Since launch, we’ve completed close to 40 Initial Offerings, created true liquidity in alternative assets, and opened our first retail showroom in NY so that everyone can have access to the rarest collectibles on the planet. This week we took the next step in that mission and officially released our next 3 asset offerings: Sports Memorabilia, Vintage Books, and Rare Timepieces, all within the Rally Rd. app. The Dow has the benchmarks. The NASDAQ has tech. Rally has everything you truly care about. Super excited to continue sharing this with the world and the Product Hunt community - Always open to ideas, feedback, or questions 🙌 PS: We re-open the Rally Rd. Store in Soho on Friday with the launch of our newest Initial Offering, a 1994 Lamborghini Diablo SE30 Jota (which will be on display). Anyone in NY come through, we’ve got some special gifts for everyone on Product Hunt starting at 9am!

I've been a happy Rally shareholder since their first car's launch – a 1955 Porsche – and can't wait to invest in their newest asset classes. These are financial investments first and foremost, but there's nothing quite like holding one of these stock certificates, knowing it represents a part of something I dream of calling my own. Big congratulations to Rob, Christopher, Fitz, and the rest of the team ⚾

Please can someone explain to me how is this a returning investment.
Rob Petrozzo
@hdsantos89 To give the quick how-it-works, the items are acquired, stored, and maintained from some of the best collections in the world. We price the asset based on a number of factors including comparable asset values and social data, then split the car into shares and run an SEC qualified Initial Offering. Once all shares are purchased, there is a minimum 90 day lock-up period where no buying or selling can occur. After that, we run Trading Windows every 30-60 days allowing for bid/ask trading between 9:30am-4pm, all through registered broker dealers within the app. We continually surface any info that could affect value and let the market reset price during those windows + we’re always fielding offers on items within the app for buyouts (we’ve had our first two full buyouts of collector cars off the platform recently, at 17% and 17.9% gains in 4 and 6 months respectively). There is also the potential for dividends via partnerships for asset use (for display, media, etc). So the return on investment can come in a number of ways.

@hdsantos89 @robpetrozzo I'm a huge fan and participant of @RallyRD. Tremendous idea. Great opportunity for unaccredited investors to gain as well. @paydayloanguy Brilliant! Appears you are growing FAST in spite of the fact you are not employing cryptos/tokens/blockchain... :-)

What sort of profit may you expect investing in this sort of assets?
Rob Petrozzo
@cataplines We can’t speak to future returns as they tend to vary based on the market, but over the last decade, the asset class as a whole (especially the best quality examples) has outperformed a lot of the investments people consider "safe bets" (ex: real estate). As for the assets on our platform, they all started trading at different times, but have fluctuated - Our Lamborghini Countach Turbo which opened in January was up +9.45% on the first day of Trading. Other assets are down (as much as -4.04%), while others are up (as much as +25.9%) in periods that range from 4 months to a full year.

Hi Rob, As I read SEC complaint, is this application is restricted to people in US only?
