If you configure it correctly with all the labels etc., then the tool is doing a great job of reminding you and team of PRs that needs to be looked at.

Great and easy to use product!

Pros:

- helps PRs to get approved faster

- leaderboard adds gamification

- gives understanding what PRs take longer

- integration with Slack

Cons:

- sometimes too many notification, but that can be configured properly with labels.

Great product!! We're using it on a daily basis for about 1-2 months already. It helped to improve PR approval turnaround and the leaderboard adds a little bit of a gamification to it. Keep doing a great job!

@alexsnurnikov Thanks Alex!

This was an enormous help to my team with turnaround on feedback and more importantly, getting feedback. The notifications take a little time to get right as you figure out how often and aggressively you want to get pinged. I love the combination of team and individual settings. In the two weeks we've used it, our team has already had an easier time getting prompt feedback. It fills a notable gap in Github's notification capability.

@geoffharcourt That's great to hear Geoff! Thanks for sharing.

This is a great product. Getting timely feedback is so vital to improvement especially for junior members if the team. I love the simplicity of this tool in helping drive feedback and speed up cycles! One question I had is why invest in data and reports next? I would love to know data driven insights and actions I can take to help my team be productive, but every system we use has its own charts so adding more here won't help. A couple ideas: * A weekly email for manager flagging who to check in with and who to celebrate based on the metrics. * Invest in other ways to streamline and build best practices in code review into the workflow. For example, a template for good code reviews that encourages a healthy ratio of positive and constructive feedback or a checklist of items to consider for review that you can make smarter and dynamic based on the code over time. Love what you are doing!

I've been in touch with the founder for 6 months now and helping them refine their tool. It's great to see it go live!

Pros:

Easy setup, greatly helpful to maintainers

Cons:

Scoreboard feature is behind a login is the only complaint I have

Abi has built a great product that solve a real problem for many teams. We had an in-house version of this being slowly developed but immediately leveraged PullReminders upon discovering it. We've been avid users ever since.

Pros:

- Light weight reminder system for keeping the flow of work moving efficiently

- Provides insightful metrics to team performance

Cons:

Configuration UX is early days and sometimes a bit complicated to figure out. That said, Abi is always there to help resolve complications!

David Virtser

Great and simple product which will increase your engineers productivity and time wasting.

Pros:

Increases PR time to resolution

Cons:

Overwhelming sometimes if configured incorrectly

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Abi, the solo creator of Pull Reminders. I built the first version of Pull Reminders in January after leaving my job. At the time I didn't expect to be able to make any money from it. Today there are over 400 companies using Pull Reminders and it is making (barely) enough money for me to work on it full-time. This has allowed me to continue improving the product and add features like pull request metrics and support for multi-team workflows. My focus right now is adding more metrics and reports to help teams improve their productivity using data. Pull Reminders already tracks things like review turnaround time and pull request size — but I think there's a lot more I can do. I'd love to hear what people think!

We started using Pull Reminders at Po.et about a month ago and haven't looked back. The Po.et team is spread across the world and timezones. To us, timely and effective code review is critical. When I found Pull Reminders we had just recently raised an issue in a retrospective: PRs weren't getting enough attention on time. Pull Reminders showed up at the right time - ever since I set it up we haven't had that problem anymore and our code review culture is improving greatly. I'm looking forward to how Pull Reminders will continue improving in the future. Awesome work @abi

Pull Reminders has really helped our team have more consistent review times, which makes everyone happier!

Better yet — the creator of this project is very responsive to feedback & feature requests. If you have any questions or concerns, they'll respond quickly & efficiently!

Pros:

Easy to notify peers of pull review requests

Cons:

Sometimes a complex configuration

This has been a productivity game changer for our team. It removed a lot of the mental overhead of having to remember to ping people to review your code. It really does what most good products should do: they do a job for us that we don't want to do which is bug our friends to review our code.
Abi Noda
@dwj22 Thanks Dan!

It's really pretty simple to use. I think the key to having the best experience with it like we have is setting it up based on how your team works and reviews code. We took time to do that and make sure the settings were based on how our team actually works, and that helped us to use it to speed up our deployment rate.

Pros:

* More code is released & boosted collaboration on our team

* I don't have to nag my team to review my PRs

* Leaderboard is 👌👌👌👌

Cons:

* It could have more options to configure settings

We've been using this at our startup for months now and its really one of those quitely brilliant productivity tools. If you haven't given it a shot for your team try it out immediately and you'll see the benefits right away. Thanks for your work on this Abi!

@emmettapps Thanks Emmett!

I am an open source maintainer for various projects, mostly smaller ones that were relatively easy to keep track of. When I became a maintainer for https://github.com/sensu-plugins it was overwhelming the number of pull requests to keep track of across that many repositories with a small band of maintainers. Thus we started searching for solutions to help us manage all of this chaos. Our first attempt involved an extensive tagging solutions and creating several "dashboards" based on github searches with states and labels. This certainly helped us bring some order to the chaos and went searching to improve this experience. At the time I discovered this tool I really liked the concept but it was missing key features that would make it viable for our use case. Rather than giving up I reached out to Abi and discussed the issues we were facing and discussed what kind of enhancements were needed to make it viable for our workflows. Abi has always been quick to respond to feedback, bug reports, etc and has been a great partner to work with. Fast forward several months later and it has become the only way I can keep on top of these large OSS projects.

Pros:

- helps me maintain OSS projects across many repositories & orgs

- showcases progress on PRs

- helps us highlight & close out abandoned PRs

Cons:

- product is still fairly new and may require additional enhancement to accomplish your specific goals/needs

-
