@jordanslon Yes, fair point! We do have support for SVG. Meaning you can add SVGs to your Pie files apart from the import.
We are thinking of improving this and it's high on our bucket list. Let us know at https://protopie.canny.io what other features you'd like to see implemented!
I switched to protopie several months ago and it's been amazing for me and our team. Super powerful, cross platform and on the web. Your hard work makes my work less hard, thank you!
I've try to download it but doesn't work:

@liv_ang Just checked whether it's working now. It should though. It seems that it was a temporary glitch.
Could you try again? https://www.protopie.io/download
A lot has changed since we launched on ProductHunt almost a year ago. Our team got bigger, we picked up some funding along the way, and added some amazing features that designers have been dreaming of.
We have always focused on the expressiveness of your prototypes giving you a lot of freedom on what you can make in ProtoPie.
- Prototypes that communicate with each other.
- Prototypes that make use of the native camera, keyboard, and device sensors.
- Prototypes with whatever scrolling areas, utilizing multi-finger touches.
- Prototypes with conditional interactions.
- Prototypes with whatever media playback.
- ...And the list goes on.
You can make all of this for mobile, web, desktop, and IoT already.
We still do. But we want to go beyond this: helping you to be more productive and allow you to communicate your creations easier and better.
🎉 Today we'd like to share with you the brand new ProtoPie 5.0–the future of interactive prototyping.
Say hello to...
👨🍳 Interaction recipes, more than a handoff
📚 Interaction libraries
👉 Interaction recipes 👈
Just let your engineer follow the recipe. It’s very simple.
This is what it comes down to.
Create an interaction recipe by recording any interactions in your prototype. Based on the flow of interactions, ProtoPie generates all the interaction specs that an engineer would need to implement your interaction designs.
This is so much more than a handoff. You can easily share your prototypes with visual documentation that covers every action and detail of each trigger and response. All based on the user journey you designed.
👉 Interaction libraries 👈
In earlier updates, we introduced components and nested components. A logical next step would be indeed to consolidate your components and easily reuse them across prototypes as well as your team.
You probably have a design system, a static one, using libraries in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. With ProtoPie’s interaction libraries, you can build on top of this and create your own interaction design system.
🔥 Free your ideas. With ProtoPie.
I would love to hear your thoughts below. And let me know if you have any questions!
@graeme_fulton More demos and videos will be available soon. We are also doing some talks introducing these features in a few weeks time :)
Thanks man!
We'll be doing a talk and Q&A about ProtoPie's biggest release til date discussing some of the new features and where ProtoPie is heading towards to.
Feel free to join us! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pro...
Guys this tool is super awesome! Way beyond and ahead of any other tools.
I have two suggestions to CEO of Protopie. First of all heartiest congratulations to you.
Sir, I know you must not offer products free, I understand it because more the revenues more innovation you can bring. However if you do the gatekeeping of features and force the users to switch an individual to team plan then it will again create problem which somebody else will pick and start solving it.
So my humble suggestion is to please offer plan as it is plus ask the users to add special features as an addon like $10-$15 additional per month. In this way atleast they can try the features, becomes super motivated and may refer you more customers.
Second suggestion, do follow the trend of #nocode revolution. Designers, Entrepreneurs across the globe are trying to build apps without hiring developers to kickstart their idea into startup.
Protopie is allowing designer to build logic, design, advanced animation. But if it just allows designer to connect with Airtable (as a database to read and write), allow designers to use Google drive/dropbox for content/data storage and allows the designer to pack the prototype into a full fledge react native app and directly upload it to appstore then it will become a dream come true moment for all the designers. You can definitely monetize each aspect of it, like converting prototype into app, uploading to playstore etc.
Hope these feedback may enlighten you or anyone else who is reading the problem areas of designers/entrepreneurs.
Proto pie is the best interaction design tool for designers who don't know how to code. I've tried from origami to FramerX. They're too hard to learn😭 ProtoPie was the best option for me to make quick prototypes
Awesome tool! If you need to do sophisticated interaction prototypes, no matter if desktop or mobile app - ProtoPie 5.0 ist the tool to use. Integrates nicely with Sketch and other UI Tools.
@daniel_schultheiss the interaction recipes and team libraries, yes! Other features, including personal and public libraries are available to all plans :)
@daniel_schultheiss@fredotan Yeah, I don't understand this approach either, gating features like the interaction recipes to team accounts. what about individual contractors that work on multiple projects for one account where that would be useful?
