A lot has changed since we launched on ProductHunt almost a year ago. Our team got bigger, we picked up some funding along the way, and added some amazing features that designers have been dreaming of. We have always focused on the expressiveness of your prototypes giving you a lot of freedom on what you can make in ProtoPie. - Prototypes that communicate with each other. - Prototypes that make use of the native camera, keyboard, and device sensors. - Prototypes with whatever scrolling areas, utilizing multi-finger touches. - Prototypes with conditional interactions. - Prototypes with whatever media playback. - ...And the list goes on. You can make all of this for mobile, web, desktop, and IoT already. We still do. But we want to go beyond this: helping you to be more productive and allow you to communicate your creations easier and better. 🎉 Today we'd like to share with you the brand new ProtoPie 5.0–the future of interactive prototyping. Say hello to... 👨‍🍳 Interaction recipes, more than a handoff 📚 Interaction libraries 👉 Interaction recipes 👈 Just let your engineer follow the recipe. It’s very simple. This is what it comes down to. Create an interaction recipe by recording any interactions in your prototype. Based on the flow of interactions, ProtoPie generates all the interaction specs that an engineer would need to implement your interaction designs. This is so much more than a handoff. You can easily share your prototypes with visual documentation that covers every action and detail of each trigger and response. All based on the user journey you designed. 👉 Interaction libraries 👈 In earlier updates, we introduced components and nested components. A logical next step would be indeed to consolidate your components and easily reuse them across prototypes as well as your team. You probably have a design system, a static one, using libraries in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. With ProtoPie’s interaction libraries, you can build on top of this and create your own interaction design system. 🔥 Free your ideas. With ProtoPie. I would love to hear your thoughts below. And let me know if you have any questions!

@fredotan congrats to team, recipes sounds cool, are there any examples?
Fredo Tan
@graeme_fulton More demos and videos will be available soon. We are also doing some talks introducing these features in a few weeks time :) Thanks man!

@daniel_schultheiss the interaction recipes and team libraries, yes! Other features, including personal and public libraries are available to all plans :)
Jesse Wallace
@daniel_schultheiss @fredotan Yeah, I don't understand this approach either, gating features like the interaction recipes to team accounts. what about individual contractors that work on multiple projects for one account where that would be useful?
Kevin Quiec
축하해 @fredotan for your launch! Impatient to try this version out. My developers will definitely be happy with the handoff feature :)
Fredo Tan
@kevinquiec Thanks man! love the support :)
yanuar abednego
awesome, congrats @fredotan and team!
Fredo Tan
@yanuar_abednego Thanks a lot!
Tom Nassr
amazing team, amazing product. Can't wait to use this on my next product build!
Fredo Tan
@tom_nassr Thanks a lot :)
Avi Whol
Looks amazing! can't wait to try it :)
Fredo Tan
@avi_whol Hope you will like it!
Briandito Priambodo
Been a user since 2017 and I can't move away to another prototyping tool. Keep up the good work @fredotan and Team! Congrats for the launch
Fredo Tan
@briandito you go way back! Always appreciate your input and support for ProtoPie. 👊👊👊
Simon Theis
Awesome tool! If you need to do sophisticated interaction prototypes, no matter if desktop or mobile app - ProtoPie 5.0 ist the tool to use. Integrates nicely with Sketch and other UI Tools.
Fredo Tan
@simontheis Thanks for your support, Simon!

Why Protopie still rasterize imported layers? Why i have to switch back to source editor to fix or change some property?
Fredo Tan
@jordanslon Yes, fair point! We do have support for SVG. Meaning you can add SVGs to your Pie files apart from the import. We are thinking of improving this and it's high on our bucket list. Let us know at https://protopie.canny.io what other features you'd like to see implemented!
Mitchell Hart
I switched to protopie several months ago and it's been amazing for me and our team. Super powerful, cross platform and on the web. Your hard work makes my work less hard, thank you!
Fredo Tan
@mitchellhart Yes, that's what we love to hear! Glad to hear ProtoPie is making your work less hard ;)
Yigit Ihlamur
This is fantastic; solving a real pain point. Looking forward to trying this out, @fredotan.
Fredo Tan
@yigit 👍 Hear! Hear! Thanks for the continuous support :)

Proto pie is the best interaction design tool for designers who don't know how to code. I've tried from origami to FramerX. They're too hard to learn😭 ProtoPie was the best option for me to make quick prototypes
Fredo Tan
@hazelsong2 Interactive prototyping should be easy. People simply don't have time to waste time.
Rohit Raj
Good one to explore
Fredo Tan
@rohitraj1 For sure! You are not going to want a different prototyping tool once you get to taste the Pie ;)
Yevhenii Peteliev
Wow! It's brilliant. Great job! I can't wait when I try it 🖤 Congratulations!
Fredo Tan
@peteliev Let us know what you think!
Maks Evsiukov
Pls add more control for Lottie like rewind or go_to_frame
Fredo Tan
@maks_evsiukov Would love to hear more. Add it to our bucket list at https://protopie.canny.io.
John Harman
Love it! Been using Protopie for a few months now while doing work for a startup while furloughed from my day job and I love the control I had, can't wait to give 5.0 a go.
Fredo Tan
@john_harman Awesome! What do you like the most?
John Harman
@fredotan The reason I picked Protopie over other options, including the built in XD tools for this project was both the Paging and the Chain trigger. They have taken some learning, but those along with the 3D rotate are important to what the client wants this to look like.
Fredo Tan
@john_harman Yup, it seems that your client likes to see prototypes that are realistic and resemble the end product ;) Thanks for sharing!
Dante Orpilla
Congrats @fredotan & team. It's come a long way.
Fredo Tan
@orionsdada Thanks a lot, Dante. Nice to hear that from you 👊
Aaron Martin
Protopie continues to kill.
Fredo Tan
@iamaaronmartin 👊 Hope you're doing well :)

Protopie is probably one of the best Prototyping tools out in the market. I've been an avid user since October 2019, and I really value this product. The protopie team actively engages with its community on their Facebook group and additionally listens and implements its users' feedbacks or feature requests from their canny page. The speed at which this application has progressed, and now with the introduction of a Component Library, Interaction Recipes, etc makes it a very valuable work tool for any UX or Interaction Designer. Congratulations to the entire team and the work they have put in! Looking forward to your launch event to see where you'll take the product next.
Fredo Tan
@soham_h @soham_h Thanks a lot! Really cool to read this. We do our best to engage with our users and community, and strive to work in a feedback-driven way. We will do our best to make the best interactive prototyping tool for all of you :)
Ysabella Alvarez
Hey! I've used this. Pretty lit.
Fredo Tan
@ysadalawa Thank you!
