Hey everybody!
I’m super excited to introduce something major and new from Projector today, aimed at giving you all a better way to present visuals to a distributed audience. We’re calling it Live Sessions, and it offers you a new way to host and guide an immersive, shared, synchronized viewing experience without having to share your screen.
We’ve received a bunch of feedback that screen-sharing presentations and other multimedia materials over Zoom has been making people sad. And that’s been making us especially sad, because we want people to be proud to share the things they create in Projector.
Since Projector is already a collaborative _editing_ platform, we thought: why not build a better shared _viewing_ experience? Why are we sharing our screens — making our graphics look fuzzy and our videos choppy — when we could have everyone open a higher-quality, synchronized view in the comfort of their own devices? Along that line of thinking, Live Sessions was born.
*How it works and why it’s cool*
1. You can create a Live Session from any visuals you create in Projector
2. Everyone in your audience opens the Session on their own device. Videos are HD and fast, transitions animate smoothly, links are clickable
3. You (as the host) get to control what your audience sees — when you move to the next slide, they move with you
4. Your audience can navigate to earlier slides on their own time. If they want to revisit something you’d said earlier, they can, and they can always sync back live. They just can’t skip ahead of the host — we don’t support spoilers!
5. Live Sessions come with video support for the host and voice chat for everyone else, but you can also choose to turn that off and use your session to accompany a Zoom meeting or a phone call

I had the privilege to be a part of the early users of Live Session before their first kick-off. I am using Projector since their very first version. I saw the evolution of their UI backend to be amazing for the relevance of UX. Live Sessions is a promising solution to bring a unique experience presentation tool on the table. Congrats for launching on PH!

This is honestly some next level creativity and enhanced thinking. I didn't know this problem could be solved so easily and effectively. Now I can finally show my presentations the right way.

Would be nice if viewers didn't have to log in, otherwise I don't really see a ton of value over sharing my slides in the meeting we're already in, and not having participants have to log into yet another service.
@jaredzimmerman Great feedback, Jared, thank you. With video and voice chat built into Live Sessions, we made the decision for this first release to ask people to sign in so others could see (at least) a name associated with any voices they were hearing. That said, our team is actively exploring a logged-out experience that will support anonymous participants.
@tmobrien could be just as "anonymous" as zoom, where you ask participants their names before they join, its not really a security risk if its something the presenter opts into.

People can always find a different way of look in order to adapt to the changing world. After all those revolutionary apps like Zoom, Teams etc., you guys seem to catch another opportunity!

Great product for anyone that needs to prepare a professional collaborative presentation. Why would anyone use any other platform? Kudos Projector!

My favorite parts of Live Sessions: the clickable links in the presentation and *not* having to use video. Such game changers!
No more cleaning up my tabs and desktop for guests! This really is so exciting. My creative team can always tell that we lose buy in from stakeholders when graphics quality is lost during screen sharing presentations—this is a game changer!
