After a lot of hard work and experimentation, today I am proud to present the open beta of Producta, an AI agent that integrates into your issue tracker to solve your tickets. 🚀
Producta is not a substitute for tools like Copilot, Cursor or ChatGPT. It is a higher-level approach that allows you to directly solve tickets with AI, while focused on ensuring the best results.
For you, this means you give a ticket to Producta, and get a pull request with the solution.
In the background, Producta perfects and automates the full flow a developer goes through when using other AI tools:
1. Ensuring the task at hand is clear
2. Finding all needed context to solve it
3. Crafting a good question or request
4. Iterating until the solution looks good
After analyzing our design partners' use of Producta, we've identified the following key advantages of this approach:

Automated solving of tickets of varied complexities and quick integration with issue trackers is a plus for producta. I think developers are gonna love this
Very cool Manu, congrats on the launch! I really like that AI picks up right in your dev workflow. I can imagine sitting with your team or with a colleague, where you just assign part of the tickets to Producta and some that you pick up yourself.
@joost_van_hoof Yes good point! Producta sits naturally on top of the existing dev flow, and you decide which tickets it works on.
Fantastic product, this is really impressive! I love the fact that through your integration with Linear it's very clear which tasks are picked up by Producta, allowing teams to control adoption. Also, I see that feedback on PR comments is given very quickly, that's super neat! Keep up the good work, can't wait to try it out!

How Producta determines the best context for a ticket. Can you share more about that process?

Producta ingests the repository you will use it with during setup. Later when receiving a task, the agent decides which files are relevant as context to solve the task. This is an iterative process where the agent check the filenames, file descriptions, and the relationship between files.
In future iterations things like the documentation of used libraries and previous generated solutions should also be part of the context.
