Love this. The ProdPad team continues to ship amazing features at blazing speed. We've been using UserVoice and haven't been very happy with it. I can't wait to try this out βπ½
Hey Product Hunters π
Last year we launched a small project here on ProductHunt for what we saw to be an under-served market: free customer feedback tools for product teams.
After talking to you guys and collecting a year's worth of feedback (yep, we're meta like that!), we had all the intel to figure out what to build next: a newer, more powerful tool designed for scaling product companies.
I'm the co-founder of ProdPad, the product management tool for your roadmap, backlog and customer feedback. This feedback portal is available as a completely free (forever free!) tool, or, as of today, a more powerful and customizable version with our paid plans.
If you're building a product and you want to feel closer to your users, this is going to help you immensely!
Thanks for all your votes and π today - every +1 helps us out! I'm here all day to answer your questions...
So, AMA:
@simplybastow This looks great! I'm not seeing where to sign up for the free-forever tool, though. I'm only seeing the sign up for the 7-day free ProdPad trial. Sorry if I'm missing something!
@barnabybones Thanks, so glad you like it!
Today's post is all about the revamped and upgraded version, but rest-assured that our forever-free version is still available. Sign up for it from here: https://www.prodpad.com/features...
@simplybastow Okay, great! Thank you very much!
I signed up and am excited to dig in. It's saying I'm on the trial, but I assume that once the trial ends I'll still have the free tool to use.
Happy revamp launch! β¨ π
@barnabybones Yep! The trial will give you access to the full suite of functionality. You can then pick the package that fits you best (from the Customer Feedback Portal only option which is free, up to our Unlimited all-you-can-eat package which is not π)
Congrats ProdPad team, looks like a great end-to-end solution to a nearly universal problem. I especially love the customization and the level of care you put into the available options and design details there. Very nicely done! π
@trisweb Thanks so much! Yeah, the team put so much effort into making this something that would be loveable by all users, whether the end users who are suggesting ideas, or the product manager who's got to deal with all of the feedback (you should see some of the changes we've made in the management side of the app - super powerful stuff).
Thanks again!
Love this update! We've been using the portal for internal feedback up to this point, but now this has what we need to really get it in front of customers.
@joshtodd Awesome, thanks! It's been great to get all your feedback on the product so far. Thanks for helping us make this a reality!
I look forward to hearing about how your 2.0 portal version works as you roll it out to your customers.
Hey Product Hunters! ππ»
Adding to the super powers the portal already has, you also have access to our Slack integration, which publishes all feedback to a specific Slack channel so that you can review and discuss with your team. How awesome is that!?
Looks great, congrats @simplybastow and the whole team at ProdPad!
I especially like the "Tell us why"-section, so helpful for Product Managers!
Curious though, what would you say are the differences compared to services like https://wantoo.io/?
@thomasleiterman Thanks Thomas! Yeah, that 'Tell us why' part was very much missing from the flow before this... along with the ability to actually connect the feedback to the things happening in your backlog and on your roadmap.
We hadn't heard of Wantoo, but there's definitely a number of services out there that let you collect suggestions from customers.
The main reasons we ended up building this portal were:
- Even though there were various tools out there to collect feedback, we don't have integrations with all of them, and so it was hard to recommend to our customers which was best for them.
- Most people we talked to wanted a really simple way of doing it... not yet-another-tool to sign up for and manage. Some people wondered why we didn't already have something like this... and we agreed with them!
- Some of the idea portals out there are way overpriced. Ours starts at free π, and we only charge if you're looking to customize it or want to do things like see suggestions grouped by company or highlight suggestions from high-value customers.
- Some of the idea portals out there are traps! β οΈ We didn't want to create a completely open forum style portal, where your customers can hound you for answers, or where we air your dirty laundry (ie. list of all past ideas and suggestions in your backlog, uncurated) for all to see. We also think that public-facing voting systems are broken, as there's that regular pattern where the most voted for ideas just keep gathering more votes, whether or not they are actually the 'best' ideas.
Our goal was to make a version of a feedback portal that *wouldn't* mislead you like this!
And with this new relaunch, we now cover:
- Translatable (mais, oui!)
- Brandable π
- Host on your own site
- Product-specific portals (for companies with large portfolios!)
- It's the beginning of our newly formed 'Apps' section, meaning you can watch this space for more amazing add-ons like this in the future! π±
@simplybastow Wow, thanks for the thorough answer!
One last quick question/suggestion on the landingpage: If I'm not mistaken one can only see screenshots of the product, but given its a public-facing product I'd like to see how it feels, e.g. a click on "Branded customer portals" or "Website and In-App-Widget" could take me to a real-life example of either one - probably even the one with all the content / suggestions for Prodpad (#EatYourOwnDogfood)...
Hey @thomasleiterman, you can actually get to our own portal via our roadmap page! www.prodpad.com/our-roadmap. We make it a point to show both our strategy alongside the ability to submit new feedback and ideas!
