Not just a book. It's a whole UI design course squeezed into a quick and easy read. It’s packed with actionable guidelines, examples, and a tutorial. You’ll also get a bonus Figma design system starter kit to kick-start your projects.
Hey Hunters 👋,
It's been a year since I released the 1st edition of my UI design book, Practical UI. Since then, it's received hundreds of 5 star reviews and has helped thousands improve their interface design skills using logic-driven guidelines.
Based on readers' feedback over the last year, I've been working on a 2nd edition with some exciting updates. It's now better than ever with an extensive new colour system, a step by step tutorial, and a bonus Figma design system starter kit to help kick-start your projects.
To celebrate the launch, I’m offering a 30% discount for the next 48 hours. There's also parity pricing for supported countries and a free preview with 3 guidelines from the book.
I hope you find the book and Figma design system starter kit helpful. Keen to hear your thoughts and feedback.
Cheers,
Adham
PS If you already own the 1st edition of the book, you'll get the updates for free 🙌
Just downloaded the updated version! Thanks again for the awesome and incredibly "practical" guide. I keep this in my dock as a constant reference and reminder to keep things simple when designing interfaces.
@kurtisdane You're welcome, that's great to hear that you use it as a quick reference guide. That was what I was hoping. Hopefully you find the updates helpful.
@adhamdannaway I definitely will. I saw 👀 some tips around color tokens and variables. I've been working on my company's design system and there's just a ton of noise/advice out there about it all. Based on your content and approach, I'm thinking it'll help me cut through the noise and implement something straightforward. Thanks again!
Great idea. I always found it quite difficult to go from zero to one on Figma. Something like this really would've helped. I agree that you learn by doing, so having a starting point to work from would've saved me so much time and helped me learn. Congrats on the launch!
Practical has been a good read so far. I loved it so much that I also ordered one for my sibling! Thanks for the effort to put it out there @adhamdannaway 🙌
@af1que1 Awesome, that's nice to hear 😃 It's definitely been a labor of love. I'm really happy with the improvements in the 2nd edition. It just feels like a nicer read, which is great.
This is one of the books I name an absolute must-read for designers. Very concise, full of insights, and packed with practical advice. Can't recommend it enough ❤️
@adhamdannaway Congratulations on the update, Adham! Love the initial release and keep coming back to the book for new insights. I'm sure that the new edition is pure gold. And thanks a bunch for keeping it updated :)
I have been following your book on Linkedin a while ago - it is definitely a to go design book for designers. I learned a lot from the guideline and have shared with other team designers. I would recommend to have more designers and design passionates to read and keep it handy!
I'm a marketer that knows SOMETHING about design, but I've always found it a better plan to rely on designers. That said, it's also always something I've wanted to understand better. So I'm really excited about this!
@trent_kennelly I've had some promising reviews from non-designers so far, so hopefully the book helps you get a better understanding of the basics of UI design 👍
@filipgres thanks 🙏 That's great to hear. The 1st edition was a good learning experience. I'm much happier with the 2nd edition after making some improvements.
Bought the first edition of the book as someone with no design experience and learned a huge amount! Applied what I learned and it made my websites way, way better. Looking forward to diving into the second edition!
@ross_zeiger that's so great to hear 🙂 The updates took a lot longer than expected, but I'm really happy with how the 2nd edition turned out. It was worth the extra effort.
