1. I'd like to add something that will show/make the timezone configurable. Currently it's local to you, but could be clearer.
2. This could also be made clearer with a simple legend
- Open the page
- Click on any of shown square
- Find yourself at https://postinspect.com/app?quer...
- Discover that no matter what you wuery the result is No results found

Post Inspect helps you take the guess work out of figuring out the best times to post to reddit.
Each subreddit gets queried for the top 500 posts from the past year and is grouped into a heatmap for easy viewing.
@xnet Yeah it's a cool product, I wanted to build an alternative :)
Post Inspect lets you view which posts made it into the top 500 (which you can see by clicking on a square), and I'll hopefully be adding more custom controls in the future to make the search more powerful :D

@xnet I also just found https://www.producthunt.com/post..., it's insane how close those two products work right now and the other one was from 3 years ago.

As someone who's new to Reddit, I find this very helpful. Would it be possible to display posts that are one week old instead of months old?
One suggestion I have is making the search bar visible when entering the site since I had no clue I had to click on the r/javascript text to conduct a search.
@ios_javi Thanks Javi! Yes this is a great point I'll hopefully be adding some more options for more configurable searches - and search by month will be one of them.
I get what you mean about the homepage, I'll try to make this clearer to understand by adding a button or the search bar as you suggest. Thanks!

I came up with this idea after building off an existing idea that let you preview your reddit post.
I just thought it would be cool idea to try out, and living in Australia if you tend to post casually from 3pm onwards, what can happen is good posts will often fall flat because there are just not as many people seeing it due to the timezone differences! This tries to help with that!
In the past I’ve been hesitant to release ideas that weren’t perfect (or big enough), but they never got released!
So I wanted to do something simple and different with this!
Love this! I suggest you use a blue to red color range for the heatmap. Blue being quite times and red being busiest times.

Still confuse about time zone. I see the word "IT" next to Search button but I have no idea what it is, after click on it, it goes to https://time.is/Italy and no this is not my time zone :(((

Pretty usefull, some feedback:
- Indicate the timezone, bonus points if you allow the user to change it.
- Explanations about the score, what is the maximum? Seems like it's 11 but is it though?
- Increase color differentiation, particularly the 1-4 range so trends can be more easily spotted visually.

- I've had a couple people mention this and I agree it does need to be clearer.
- Great point, I originally had it going from a dark red -> yellow -> green. But couldn't get it looking right/setup in time. I'll try to revisit this. I'm glad that you pointed it out.

@wwgene Hi Gene, It's currently local to your timezone, I've had a few people ask me about this so I'll try to add something up to make it clearer/configurable.
This will definitely be helpful for me! One thing that might be useful to people who are still trying to figure out how to use Reddit effectively is to direct them to the "rules" of Reddit, or explain how scoring on Reddit works, etc. so we understand what certain numbers mean. Maybe a model with a legend, or just a question-mark popup...
Not sure if an overkill, but displaying some basic info about the subredddit you're searching for as to confirm. This? https://www.reddit.com/dev/api/#...
@binoyxj Totally! I get what you mean - I feel like it could be easy to mistype it and get the wrong subreddit, and this would help mitigate that.
I'll add autocomplete and couple it with this to fix that. Thanks for the api link!
