As expecting parents, we both spent countless hours researching hundreds of baby products. We built Poppylist so other parents wouldn’t have to suffer through that experience by providing a personalized list of what every new parent needs, and what they don’t.

I love the simplicity and clarity of the Poppylist vision. I remember how overwhelmed we were as first time parents…it could have been totally different if Poppylist existed back then!

Absolutely love Poppylist! Congrats @sarah_hollingsworth and @tamiz on the launch! I've been sending the survey out to so many friends and the consistent response I get back from each of them is "this is the best curated list of things I need"! Can't wait to see what you add next!

@aashnisshah Thanks so much for sharing Poppylist with your friends! We appreciate the support :)

Congratulations on the launch! Can you share the list with friends that want to buy you gifts?
Tamiz Ahmed
@adrivazo thanks! right now instead of replacing traditional registries, we're trying to work alongside them by solving the problem of what to add to your registry in the first place. would a one-stop-shop registry you could share with others be something you'd be interested in?

Thank you, @chrismessina for the hunt and for believing in our product! We hope you enjoy your next few coffees! • • 👋🏾 Hello Product Hunt Community! Wow. One year ago, I launched Poppylist on Product Hunt as a very early, solo founder. And today, I'm re-launching v2 of Poppylist alongside my co-founder, @tamiz! 📣 Today, we’re introducing a brand new experience on Poppylist. A personalized list of baby registry products tailored to the unique lifestyle and needs of each individual parent. Have you ever researched baby products? Did it feel daunting and overwhelming? Did you spend over 30 hours online reviewing a stroller? Yea, me too. Our free, ten-question quiz identifies interests, budget, needs, and values, applies our personalization algorithm, and outputs a customized list of ~50 products. Compared to our competitors that recommend an average of ~250 products, we remove the overwhelm associated with creating baby registries by only suggesting products parents actually need. 💻 Complete our quiz 🍼 Discover new products ☑️ Manage your dashboard And the best part? Every single product recommendation has been sourced directly from a mom or dad. ❓Are you wondering, “what's a baby registry?” A baby registry is a product wishlist created by an expectant mom or dad. In North America, the "baby registry" industry is driven predominately by baby showers; an event that traditionally celebrates the expectant mother. An invite to her baby shower would include a link to her baby registry, directing guests on what to purchase. 🤰🏻So, how was Poppylist born? When I was pregnant with my daughter, Amelia, I accidentally ordered a mini crib. Did you even know there was such a thing? Well, there is. They’re cribs designed for small spaces. Think studio apartment in NYC. And did you know that you can’t return nursery furniture even if it’s been unopened? In addition to the accidental and non-refundable purchases I made, I’d spent over 30 hours researching items to add to our baby registry. I obsessed over brands, aesthetics, safety reviews and spent hours on hours deliberating between what’s nice to have vs. must-have. Parts of this experience were fun, but mostly it was overwhelming and time-consuming. Turns out, it’s overwhelming and time-consuming for most people. And after many conversations with friends who experienced similar pain points, Poppylist was born! • • Questions? Leave a comment below, and thank you for supporting our launch! Sarah & Tamiz

What an amazing product! Congrats on launching this @sarah_hollingsworth and @tamiz, because this is TRULY something expecting parents truly need. It's very overwhelming to look through products and be absolutely clueless on what to get. But the fact that your team of parents have compiled a highly aggregated dashboard with recommended products is sincerely genius. I'm 100% for ease of use, love that it's so simple to get started and very personalized. Recommend this to all expecting parents (which, during the pandemic, there sure are LOTS!!). Again, congrats on a great product, and can't wait to use it in the near future ;) Bravo.

@tamiz @nicolexcaba Nicole, thank you! It's important to use that non parents alike also understand the value we're trying to provide, and you do! We're so grateful to have your support, and hopefully as a customer in the future ;-) XX
