Pollie matches women to hormonal health specialists. Our mission is twofold: streamline a currently convoluted patient journey for women struggling with hormonal imbalance symotoms, and help independent providers grow their practices the way they want to grow.

Hiya, Product Hunt! I created Pollie to address an underserved market that is close to my heart: the world of hormonal imbalances. Our prototype connects users to providers in our directory via matching them based on important criteria such as budget, communication preferences, desired treatment methods, and areas of expertise. That means users are matched with providers that help them manage their symptoms in a way that feels authentic to them, and our providers are funneled higher-retention patients through a set-it-and-forget-it channel. Pollie is early (and quite a lightweight product at this point!) but the concept is there, and we are well into our way of hundreds of matches. As we continue to build upon this iteration, I'd love to hear your comments, questions, and feedback. I've included some more background on Pollie's story below - we're vastly undereducated about hormonal health in the US, and unless you or someone you're close to has experienced a hormonal imbalance, chances are you don't know much about the space. ********* I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) when I was a freshman in college. For those of you that are unfamiliar with PCOS: this hormonal imbalance impacts 1 in 10 women of reproductive age (7M+ ladies in the US alone) and is the #1 reason behind infertility. Beyond that, PCOS can lead to a range of other chronic health issues such as such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, as well as a range of symptoms such as acne, weight gain, hair loss, and depression/anxiety. Here's the wild thing about PCOS: it remains incredibly under-diagnosed with little support from conventional medicine resources. When you factor in other common reproductive health disorders like endometriosis, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and other ovulatory disorders, you get to a market of 20M American women, all of which encounter the same general issues in finding a provider to help manage their symptoms. For this reason, many women turn to the world of independent hormonal health specialists to find support in managing their symptoms. However, this market is difficult to navigate from a patient perspective: it is incredibly fragmented, and finding a specialist is limited to diving down Google, Yelp, and Instagram wormholes. Hello, wasted time. Independent hormonal health specialists also face significant challenges. As entrepreneurs *and* practitioners, they have the unique challenge of building their business in an increasingly-competitive environment full of large medical practices and VC-funded functional medicine startups with in-house providers. But, these folks did not become providers to become SEO wizards and Instagram influencers. They became providers to treat patients, and Pollie wants to help them do more of that. As a lurker of the blogs and social pages of these providers for nearly 10 years - and a woman that has managed PCOS for the same amount of time - I feel incredibly passionately about making this specific market more efficient and manageable from a patient and provider perspective.
